Hello all old F-L'rs. I'm a bit of a latecomer when getting into the next generation, and can't decide whether to go for a new PC, 360 or PS3? I'm leaning towards a 360 for the number of decent games out, but like the flexibility of a PC to store MP3's/DVD's etc. Budget's around £500-£600. Can you chaps help? |

If you want to save money and want to jump into buying and playing some decent games straight away- 360. If you want a reliable, more future proof machine with great media flexibility and don't mind forking out- PS3 500-600 quid wont get you much of a decent gaming PC anyway. |

If you're after purely something for games then at the moment the 360 is your best bet IMO It's got the widest range of games on offer and a few exclusives. |

Yup, don't listen to the PS3 fanboy
, the 360 is the one to get at the moment. The PS3 is a great machine, but the lack of decent releases is really letting it down at the moment, and the claimed difference in power isn't really making itself felt yet.

Blackster!!!! Long time no-see!! Welcome back. Roight - yup, the 360 has oodles of shit-hot games, but the machine itself is built like a 1970's Skoda My second one is deffo on its way out, and I've always apologised for it, but it's actually pissing me off now.The PS3 is a fucking awesome bit of kit, but with bugger-all games at present. PC's are just an endless money-pit, and I moved on from em a coupla years back. |

No worries mate, but one word of advice: if you go the 360 route take the fucker back the minute you get a dirty disc/freeze up occurring more than a coupla times and get it swapped for another - you'll regret persevering with it, I promise you that. Oh, and get Crackdown at the precise nanosecond you get one

My 360 is currently being repaired at the mo, and theyre taking their sweet fuckin time doing so, few more days and I think they will be getting a phone call to receive both barrells.... but to tell you the truth I havnt missed it at all!, its just the shear principle why I'm thinking about phoning about it. I'm personally keeping my eyes out for one or two games on the PS3 and I think I'll be getting rid of the 360. I'd say go for a PS3... 'the grass is always greener???' :ph43r:  |

And I'm starting to get dirty disk errors frequently on Forza 2, rendering long races and even bigger "thrill" |

PS3 if you want something that can play PS2 games thats not a PS2 or you want a (very very good) blu ray player My PS3 is now almost only used for Blu Ray playback with the odd PS2 game - not played a PS3 game on it for ages - there is just nothing that really appeals Decided that all multi-format games I will get for the 360 and continue to use the PS3 for movie playback and the odd exclusive title (well FFXIII) 360 has a great selection of games with the added bonus of new owners being able to snap up some great bargains Likes of Dead Rising and Crackdown can be picked up for under twenty notes |
