To no-ones suprise Sony have annouced that Europe will not be getting the $100 price cut like the US, instead they are bundling 2 games(from a choice of five) and a second controller for £425.
Yes it is a sort of price cut, but only if you want those games and another controller. I was considering getting a PS3 if it had a big enough cut, but as I dont need another controller or want more than 1 of the availible games I will not getting one till there is a proper price cut.

Well, personally I would have killed for that deal three months back.

Who buys a console and no games? You can get Resistance and Motorstorm FREE for the same price I paid for mine, and trust me, currently they are the two games you need to have with the console. (Barring Oblivion and Ninja Gaiden Sigma of course but you can get them later).

Download the PHENOMENAL crack cocaine Super Stardust for a fiver and you are dead set until the last quarter bonanza!

If you want a PS3 buy the fucker. Its a premium machine with a premium price. What would a genuine price cut have been? £399? £349? You still would have had to buy the games bumping it up to over 400 quid. Face it, the PS3 is a feature packed bit of tech thats gonna take a LONG time to come down below 300 quid.

If you REALLY want it and gaming is your hobby then buy it and live on bread and water like me.
Gaming and budget logic. They don't exist in the same universe.

Think the annoying thing though is the difference in price between the UK and the US

I paid much less than the current UK price for my PS3 when I got mine imported and that was with Resistance and the remote

It is annoying. I am resigned to the fact that we pay more in the UK for pretty much everything.

Having said that with the exchange rate being the way it is importing from the US is a fantastic option at the moment.

Yeah

VG+ could get you one by next weekend (mine was with me less than 72 hours after ordering) for around £280 delivered

Thats with no import or anything

I imagine there are even cheaper suppliers too

All worthy questions

It plays ANY ps3 games but will ONLY play US PS1 and 2 games (not an issue for me - I just purchased a second hand copy of FFXII with mine)

Blu Ray wise - its Region A only - but more and more UK discs seem to be Region A, B and C (The Rock, Con Air, Crimson Tide, Hell Boy and Air Force One to name a few)

Online gaming I am not sure - never bothered with it

Online store - well mine is the Uk store on a US machine

Power wise - just replace the cable that comes with it with a UK one - its the same cable that plugs into back of PCs etc and if you aint got a spare one then they are fairly cheap (or ill send you one if you need and I can find)

Serious would give big thumbs up to VG+

Mine took less than 3 days to arrive - no import etc - well pacakged
