Yup, demo's out on XBL.

Haven't tried it yet, but intend to as soon as I've gone and bought a loaf of bread and some milk. Not that you need bread and milk to play Stuntman...

Er, impressions?

Guess it's horses for courses then, because I really liked it, but was bored stiff by Overlord...

Then again, it's kind of in the same vein as the cone challenges in PGR, some of the more challenging street races in GTA or Crackdown and the original Driver, which I all love. Love everything going on around you, but not loving the slightly random framerate.

I know that the lure of perfecting every single level may be too great a temptation for me to resist.

Nah - didn't like it.

The potential for awesomeness as regards as stunt driving game + next gen goodness is there, but this just hopelessly missed the mark.

The framerate issue is important, but what I found really quite unforgivable is that the replays don't actually highlight the set pieces nearly well enough. If I shoot down a helicopter which then falls and explodes, causing two vehicles that were previously blocking my path to go shooting off in both directions I wanna see that in the replay. Not only do I wanna see it, I wanna see it cut together exactly how it would be done in a movie: from different angles, in slow motion etc. etc.

Why bother putting in set pieces all over the shop that you can only see when actually doing the level?

Dumb.

Impressed with the amount going on here, but as Juz said not how it's shown in the replays. And FOR FUCK'S SAKE, Yet again the one game that deserved (nay demanded) Driver's director mode isn't going to get it. Also despite the Viper and the DB9 lookylikeys in the first and third stunts looking kinda cool, the cop car looked rubbish, its suspension hardly moves and it looks like an early PlayStation car model flapping around. Better than Surf's Up and Hairy Pooter though, and it'll probably be just as addictive as the original, a game that I played to death despite it being harder then nails and more annoying than Richard Madeley...
Subtitles are available on Teletext page 888

I enjoyed the demo, then again i enjoyed the first stuntman. Maybe it'll show the big stunts better in the 'trailer' for when u finish the whole level?

On the Driver note, i hope Driv4r is in development with the director mode cos that could be special.

The replays are disappointing, but I rarely watched the replays in the original game anyway. For me, it ticks the two important boxes - mission based driving with a challenge and an instant restart option (the 20+ second waiting period in the last game was a bit of a joke).

And as for Driv4r, I would be very surprised if it was not in development following Ubisoft's buyout (I doubt Driv76r has recouped a significant proportion of their investment).

Dude - did they really call it "Driv76r" or are you just fuckin around?? Mmmmmm a new Director Mode in DrIVer eh? LLLLLLllloooooverly :)

Anyway, back to Stuntman - Ste, I doubt that the replays will mysteriously get better once you've done the full level mate.

And yeah, the cop car handles like a fuckin BOAT for crap's sake!

lol - yeah...to a certain extent, but there's just something wrong about the handling on that motor.

did they really call it "Driv76r"

No, but only because the boxart typography for Driv//r was deemed too confusing.
