Dusting off my 360

Due to the workload of this year's Open Uni course my 360 has been in hibernation for the last 7/8 months (I know i'll probably meet the three red ring-pieces of death the first time I power it up :( ). In a couple of months I should be able to get back to my gaming ways (ie starting a game, failing miserably and then giving up) and I was hoping to get some F-L recommendations on what games I should purchase - old or new.

Crackdown (sandbox delight)
Lost Planet (looks good, plays good, feels good sci fi shooter)
Test Drive Unlimited (great 'do what you want where you want' driver)
Rainbow Six Vegas (playing PS3 version but its the same. Good solid shooter)
Fight Night Round 3 (addictive if you love boxing)
Oblivion (great rpg but 360 version is slow loading and buggy as fuck though)

Cant think of any real must haves that I have played this generation so far but these are the ones I most enjoyed.

Tomb Raider Legend
Crackdown

Only things I can see on your list that you haven't played that I'd recommend (Lost Planet may be another, I've not played enough to know). We're just about to hit the gaming muthaload though...

Oh yeah, Kameo is also worth a punt.
Twas a launch game and should be available for next to nothing.

Still looks crisp and its quirky and fun metamophasising into other creatures. It holds your hand way too much for too long though telling you how to play but its underrated, decent and varied.

AVOID- Dead Rising. Pure crapolla. Should have been great but is crippled by ludicrously frequent 'oooh look I have turned bonkers cos of the situation' bosses and poor gaming structure. SHAME.

Totally agree with this.

Kameo is a lovely game. Dead Rising isn't: I tried so many times to get on with it, but just ended up despising it - the demo on Marketplace was excellent - go figure.

And has been mentioned before as a complete given: Crackdown. Best game since GTA III blew me away. Awesome, fantastic, satisfier of every destructive urge ever*

*Possibly only until Mercs 2?

Dead Rising is a real "marmite" game

I loved it and am one of the ones who has completed it more than once (which for me is an achievement as I hardly even complete a game once)

Oblivion is well worth a punt - great game and one I plan at some point to start again with all expansion packs

Would also say Crackdown - its fun

Dead Rising is brilliant! I don't know what you guys are on about ;)

Not perfect by any means (the aiming sucks) but playing through a second time once leveled up is far more satisfying.

Probably my favourite 360 game so far.

Dead Rising demo is awesome. Didn't really enjoy the full game - the difficulty was all over the place, the npc path finding was frustratingly awful, and I didn't really feel that there were any cool things I was going to see beyond the first couple of hours play.

Don't get me wrong, I think it will be regarded as a classic game in years to come, and I may come back to it in future, but just got a bit pissed off with it this time.
