Well, after a long spell of playing nothing I've ordered myself a shiny new laptop. Is there any PC games worth checking out? Mainly into FPS's and RTS's but I've played/seen most of FEAR so thats out (and I'll be testing my lappy with it round a mates). So hit me. Will probably only get 1 anyway so make them good ideas! My specs if anyone's interested: Vostro 1500 15.4 WXGA CORE 2 DUO T7300 2.00GHz, 800 ,4MB Cache 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 2048 MB 667 MHz Dual-Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x 1024 MB) 2.0mp Camera Hard Drive 160GB Serial ATA (5400RPM) Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-PCI Card EUR All for £752.88 Only downside is the estimated delivery date of.... 22/08/07

depends how far you want to go back-company of heroes is a pretty solid RTS (even though it uses the dawn of war engine so is pretty much identical but WWII). LOTR: BFME2 is also pretty fun. i always enjoyed the Battlefield series and thought it should stay on PC. The R6 games were always better on PC too. the others i kind of felt like they were being ported to PC and didn't feel quite right. You never know, maybe you'll finally be able to run HL2 at optimum spec

Company of War Without doubt the best RTS game I have ever played - actually feels as if the strategy makes a difference. Great game Football Manager 2007 I love it and never seen a full match in my life |

Haha, yep! And Far Cry, which was barely playable on low setings and an awful resolution on my trusty Geforce 4 MX460... As others with identical specs can play FEAR at pretty much max settings, I think I'll be fine with this one I'll check out the demos of those RTS's, I was interested in Dawn of War a little while back (forgot about it) so that or company of heroes will probably be up my street. I forgot to mention, I doubt I'd be playing any multiplayer games over the net. As much as I love the Battlefield series, it's off my list unless they've improved the AI on singleplayer. But HL2 might be worth a punt EDIT: Company of War? |

U mean Company of Heroes Dunk? I also recommend that, great RTS. Command and Conquer 3 is sweet, Half Life 2, STALKER might be worth a look |

Well, if I can play it on my own... Thanks anyway. I'll have a ganders at C&C3, I have Tiberian Sun and RA2 so we'll see how well it plays. STALKER seems to get mixed reviews, how do you lot rate it? I loved Deus Ex so if this is in the same general RPG/FPS hybrid then I'm all for it! |

Oblivion and the many user made mods availible, tailor the game to how you want it and look at the lovely wavy grass. SWAT 4 carries on from how the R6 games used to play before they did away with the more complex areas. Any of the Total War games, all are very good games. Farenheit, apart from the excessive action sections. The Longest Journey |
