According to Major Nelson, a demo of one of my most anticipated (hey it's action from the Max Payne guys) is up on XBL now.

didn't see it this morning but did play the Ace Combat 6 demo. feels weird on 360-the ps2 controller was perfect for flight sims as the shoulder buttons meant you could easily throttle up/down and move horizontally left/right really easily. because the triggers take up most of the room it's a bit awkward. still keeping my eyes out though.

/HIJACK

let me know if anyone else has seen the demo (or dl'ed it), then i'll give it a try.

Has anyone tried the Blue Dragon demo?

Nope - turn-based random-combat actually makes me simultaneously puke and shit my pants. Fact.

As for Stranglehold - when they say "destructible" then mean DESTRUCTIBLE. Fuckin everything seems to blow up/splinter/smash...check out the big, ornate green fountain early on in the demo to see what I mean...go on - shoot it all over!

Play the demo more than a coupla times and you get new Tequila bomb thingies unlocked.

It rocked, but...I dunno....not a purchase for some reason.

EDIT: Vampire Rain demo out too - only played a coupla mins but it seemed s-l-o-w.

Stranglehold seemed very "ho hum" til the precision aim was unlocked

Come on, who never went for the bollox shot ?

Seems like full game could be rather good - also liked the stand off moments

But it really IS just Max Payne 2 with even more destruction and a Woo flavour.

MP2 had precision aiming when you used certain guns.

I haven't played the demo (don't have access to live at the moment) but I'm certainly going to be getting this when it comes out.

Hard Boiled is pretty much the definitive action flick IMO (Mr Woo what has happened to you lately :( ) and if they release the special edition which has the film on Blu-Ray it'll be the icing on the cake.

Plus I love MP2 so more of the same will suit me fine!

Played demo a few more times - decided as much fun as that was Ill wait til its either (a) second hand on a forum or (B) 17.99 at play

there is too much coming out over next few weeks to warrant £40 on this

I think that's probably what I'm going to do. I look forward to getting it, but I'll have plenty to play in the mean time and I'm afraid it may be too short to be good value right now.

Managed to download this last night and had a quick play through.

Despite what I said earlier I was disappointed with it if I'm honest. For one thing the fact that the game is all done in English language rather then the original dialect was frustrating. If they wanted to keep the authenticity of Hard Boiled they should've surely gone for subtitles.

Maybe thats just me being picky though!

Sat playing thinking "whats missing" then it clicked - much better with original language and subs

I really enjoyed the demo, easy controls (as you just have to walk into most things to interact!) and lots of killing. i do agree, i hope there's an option for subs because then it wouldn't look so hammy.

think i might wait and see how varied they can make the killing- dynasty warriors has tought us just throwing loads of bodies at us gets a little stale...
