Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but I am skimming this thread to avoid spoilers till I finish the game. I really like how the Vitachambers work when I (frequently) die, unlike a savepoint/checkpoint which magicly sends you backwards through time to a previous point from where you have to refight already defeated enemies back to the point where the death occured. When you are revived in the nearest chamber, it is still the same point in time as when death occured and you continue onwards, it took me a few times to get used to this , being so used to checkpoints. I think it really helps with the immersion of the game and really negates the need for a Quick save. |

Thing i dont like about them chambers is how i dont get punished for dying, like you can just keep on dying, slowly chipping away the big daddies health. Bit odd i thought. But still loving this game, really taking it easy so i dont get bored of it |

Why is it that I keep hearing how tough Big Daddies are, but have never died/come close to dying whilst fighting em? Not being a le4ky Hacks4w or anything, but they really seem piss-easy. Incidentally, I've got one of the Combat Tonics enabled which shoots out leccy every time I get hit, and I can practically stand still whilst the baddies just kill themselves on my static! I had an onslaught of about 10 of em after a boss-battle and they just fell like flies. |

You playing on easy?
I found big daddies tough at the start, but after you get a few tonics, plasmids and the shottie with electro shells you're sitting sweet. Got my crossbow a bit back, havent used it, but it's meant to rape them hard too. |

Nope - I'm on the Medium setting as it said that achievements would get shafted on an easier setting...not that I've encountered any achievements yet that are difficulty-level related? |

After all the useful advice on here about my borked 360 I'm happy to report Microsoft returned it fixed in under 2 weeks. Finally got my grubby mits on Bioshock last night and...well so far it's as good as everyone has said. Once again thanks for the advice on the extended warranty. Looks like I'm just in time for Halo. |

I told a mate who had to return his a few times to get his Live Gold membership renewed for the time spent broken. They did, somewhat surprisingly, so might be worth a go too; afterall you paid for it, and its their fault you couldnt use it. |

Could not have put it better myself Its good, but not that good Its no Oblivion and as the link above states its System Shock 2 for 2007 with bits removed rather than added At best it was a 9 - at worst a 7 - i would settle on middle ground of 8 Its far too short Far too linear too FPS not enough RPG |

I gave up on GamesTm when they awarded Gears of War a 10 and Resistance a 6. I am all for opinion but that just bends mind and logic. |

Ahhh, you see I'd totally agree with em on all their scores. I adored Gears Of War, and actually had to make myself go back to Resistance; I'd be playing Crackdown of a nighttime despite having "finished" it weeks previously, whilst RFOM sat there...all unfinished like. Oh and Dunk - Bioshock too short? I'm just at the bit I think will be the lead up to the end and it seems to be the perfect length - much longer and I'd start looking at Crackdown again. Oblivion intrigued me for a bit and then I just let it slide. |

Lol and I am the complete opposite. I enjoyed every minute of Resistance and found Gears short and pedestrian as fuck. (The more complete as envisioned PC version I presume must get an 11 out of ten) Whatever you prefer the points difference is ridiculous for me. And nobody totally agrees with every score a games mag gives. I am sure you didn't agree with GamesTM scores of 4 out of 10 for Driv3r which you loved, or the 8 out of 10 for Psi Ops which you thought was the **best** Box game evar!

Yeah, you ain't wrong bro - I meant I agreed with the scores you were talking about. Driv3r should JUST have been released as an action film director game only And Psi Ops IS The Best XB Game EVAH!!! |

I'm really not getting on with Bioshock - in fact, I'm on the verge of giving up on it. My main problem is the method the developers chose to tell the story - those tiny talking heads giving out random snatches of detail just aren't engaging, particularly as my gaming sessions are often days apart these days and so keeping track and trying to make sense of it all is nigh on impossible. As a result, the game, for me, consists of little more than trudging from one place to the next searching drawers for glinting objects (almost as tedious as scanning in Metroid Prime) and waiting for the next instruction from the talking head with the Blarney. |

For me the story telling mechanism really aids the immersion. I think I just prefer to be part of the story rather than shown it. What was the last game you finished Zai? |
