Been following this one recently as its one of the relatively underhyped 360 games which could be very good. Looks very nice indeed and well imaginative with a rumoured 40+ hours gameplay.

The downside is it will be over four discs. :(

Still dont see problem with multi-disc games these days

Ok back in the Amiga days it was a swap fest - the likes of Monkey Island 2 seeing you forever swapping discs back and forth, but these days it does not seem a huge problem

As long as games continue along the lines of FFVII where you play a disc to completion before swapping it for the next then its fine

Yeah, its no big deal gameplay wise, especially on long winded RPG's but its still nice to have games on a single disc.

Simply less to worry about scratches and damage wise and I would be loth to purchase something like this second hand for example.

I'm not sure I understand how they can do this, surely ejecting the dvd thats in the 360 drive drops you out of the game so how will they get around that?

Same "magic" they have used over the years with many many multi disc games

Wow, looks very nice.

It does just look like a next-gen Final Fantasy 7/8 to me though. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think its the Sci-fi/Fantasy mix complete with guns/swords/dragons/hi-tech vehicles and the cinematic cut scenes/FMVs.

I'd keep a close on it if I had a 360.

I only remember multi disc games on the psx and ps2, which as far as I can remember do not exit the game upon disc ejection.

No, they did unless the game was programmed not to shut down if the disc was swapped. It was either that, or the game would crash if it was disc intensive.

There are also 360 games which if you eject then the game just freezes rather than dropping back to dashboard

Oh the joys of turning the Vic20 cassette deck upside down in the hope that it would somehow JUST ONCE load Gridrunner. You don't know how spoiled you are kids.

It's a minor annoyance which isnt needed, given the technology for larger capacity is there.

I fully expect to see "HDD required" required on 360 games, but probably not "HD-DVD" labels. Microsoft will probably pull out the Xbox 720 in 2009 and force HD-DVD (or maybe Bluray if it soundly wins by then) and make people upgrade.

Personally i wouldnt like multi-disc games, but then i also wouldnt like a game cutdown to fit DVD9 when the devs think more space is needed.

Agreed - I'd rather have multi disc games (particularly if you just play the discs through in order and don't have to keep swapping) than games which are lesser quality that have been squeezed to fit on one disc.
