Lol @ Juz. I know the Wii U will old hat once the next Xbox and PS arrive, but I don't care because a) I'm enjoying the Wii U now and b) I'll buy them too!

I wonder if Juz's missus has secretly got him one for Christmas.
I would sincerely fuckin hope not. Every single Nintendo I've ever owned has been a total waste of lolly.

I don't have the Kuga anymore :P

What I DO have (Volvo S60) would benefit massively from snow chains as I bought super cheap tyres for it a while back and they're fuckin awful.

Snow chains wold make for a seriously heavy present under the tree! Imagine the excitement...and then the boredom.

If she's bought him chains, it won't be for his tyres, it'll be for the dungeon in the shed! :jawdrop:

Anyone other than our usual suspects buy one of these white elephants? I really don't know anyone else who'll admit to it.

We actually forgot we purchased one !
It's actually in the cabinet and was purchased a week before Xmas
I played zombieu on it for two hours that afternoon and then forgot all about it
When I opened the cupboard a month or so ago I purchased monster hunter to give me a reason to play it. That remains sealed !

It IS remarkable isn't it? Why do we keep buying these Nintendo machines? Is it for the guarantee of 2 decent games per machine? How do they keep going? Sega went down the toilet with arguably better hardware, a MUCH bigger software lineup and developer network, AND a more faithful user base.

I think if it wasn't for Pokemon a handful of years back, Nintendo would be in the shit. They got lucky with that franchise, and milked it for all it was worth while barely releasing anything on the Wii.

The trouble is, as much as Sega have a faithful fanbase, Nintendo can tap into the mums and dads who see these cutesy games and fancy trying them out. Look how many copies they sell of the New Super Mario games - and it is pretty much the same game they keep releasing. And the casuals snap that shit up. Didn't it end up outselling COD in the end?

They will release that shitty new Mario Game and Mario Kart on the WiiU next year, and they will sell a shit ton and job done. They will be rolling in money again. I'd love to see Pokemon go out of fashion and see how hard it would hit them.

I've got one and it's currently the most-played console in our house - although that's not saying much because my gaming time is currently nil most weeks. The Wii U gets played because my son likes watching me play Lego City Undercover (which is a good game, to be fair).

I do wonder how much longer Nintendo can go on just rehashing the same old tired franchises, though. :Zzzz:
