It's the 4th quarter over here at Koblenz. Lydia is getting up early to see if she can find me online - They know what my schedule is and they check in on me.... hoping to find me. Gonna have to do some 3am posts again tonight.... Maybe for a few days. Finally figured out what to send to Rodger.... Going at it from a loyal - keep hold of your idol - I'm trying to protect you - what is Matty up to angle...
And I've got a line in to the super-secretive - next to go Matty. Seeing what he'll tell me about what he is really up to. The pity card is really easy to play. I was watching Law and Order this weekend and learned that sociopaths use it to gain advantage over others.... that's scary. With Matty - I just made up a bunch of crap for him to worry about. Get him to debunk some of them or confirm some of them. Tried not to go to far out in 'left of field' - or as Austin told BFA 'I do not send Matty on chase of wild geese.'
Here's what's totally terrifying at this point. The farther I go, the more one of two things is true.... 1. That my theory of Survivor is wrong. That you can be different than who you really are and succeed at this game. I don't like that - I don't like to be wrong. But I like it better than the alternative. 2. This evil, lying, manipulating, backstabbing, give your word to anyone Austin is who I really am. That would be the worst thing to find out. I can't let myself believe that for a second... Let's hope that it's really a completely different option: 3. That because our identities are secret, and there is no physical presence, there is no body language to pair up with what is being said. You have to have both pieces of the pie to really understand a person and get a feeling on whether they are 'real' 'honest' 'sincere' whatever. And left only to words, it is easier to conceal intent. Because your body language can't betray you... your eyes can't betray you.... Man - I hope it's number 3... |

And can I just say - DANG - it's day 20 and we've only voted out 5 people..... And most of those people just quit.... (Or never played) Let's do a DOUBLE DOUBLE ELIMINATION!!!! How's that for a twist! |

OK - Got a message from Matty. Absolutely no information on gameplay. Not surprising. Rodger seems to think he is out in the dark. I have no idea what Matty is up to - he has to get the target somewhere if we go to tribal. Is the alliance he is telling Lydia and Tanya about his real one - or is he making it up to protect himself. If he was really in an alliance with Rodger and I, he would talk to us. Clearly he is talking more to Frosti than anyone else - he even says in his message that he told Frosti yesterday that Lydia is playing an individual game. And he says I am 100% loyal to Koblenz - and that everyone can see that..... Um - ok... Guess I'm doing good work there. Matty could be an unnecessary casuality of war tonight... But IF WE CAN WIN... we would need to sit out two people at the next challenge.... (assuming we don't merge... I make no assumptions anymore. I just can't outthink Brobst. That much is crystal clear.) Win or lose - tonight will be a good night. Matty - if anything - you just gotta tell folks what you are up to. Even if it's nothing. Say that. Everyone is completely freaked out over you. Partially because I put the target on you with Marty and Becky and Ken and Lydia.... but that is so miniscule. And then you did enough on your own to reinforce their belief. You are so cryptic. I can tell how smart you are. And you aren't telling Koblenz anything of value either. You are an honest guy. I believe you have what you think is your alliance. And you don't want to mislead anyone else - you don't want to lie to anyone. That's so honorable. I respect you so much - but without another target to go after - all eyes are on you tonight... Once again - I apologize for misleading you. It's not fair - and you don't deserve it. You are a good man. But Lydia isn't the only one playing an individual game at this point.... |

I love how your Confessionals are so "in the moment" and outlining exactly what you're thinking at every moment. I wish those who don't put much in their Confessionals would learn from the people who DO.

Oh - I am such a turd - laying it on think tonight... just sent this to Lydia...
I do mean it - I really do appreciate her and I do trust her - and she does mean a lot to me. But wow - but that almost crosses the line of common decency - should we all pull out hankies and hug and cry together. Sorry Lydia - I do appreciate you - truly. But I think I got a little carried away gushing like that... |

One last thing.... Can I just say - I hope we win the challenge tonight - I really do. I mean, it's good either way - but there is so much loathing for Matty over here that left to stew for another two days - this could get REALLY entertaining.... Remember - if you have two people who don't like each other - KEEP THEM BOTH! (And keep them from talking to one another) |

Nice. Koblenz wins. Keep up the heat between Lydia and Matty. And once again, Ken spouts his sour grapes at losing a challenge. It was all luck... That's so not fair. If we didn't have to play these luck challenges we could win..... Waaaaaahhhhhh. Here's the info for those not smart enough to figure out why Brobst is so smart.... He knew that everyone would race to throw the challenges with the swap. So he set out to prevent people from doing that. He's keeping us playing the game the right way. Get used to losing Ken. Your days are numbered. You and your buddy Marty are going night-night soon. So you can cry yourself to sleep anytime you want. |

Just to close out the day. I finish today off with a hearty round of congratulations with Frosti and Matty. Keep Koblenz believing that all Koblenz is united. Keep EVERY DOOR OUT OF THIS MAZE OPEN! Tomorrow, I hit Rodger up and try to work him in as a closer ally. Give him the info that Matty isn't working with him. But I will certainly honor that commitment to him.... Tomorrow is another day. No rest for the wicked.... |
