Indulge me for a few minutes.

There's a great book I read once that talks about how fairy tales are about trouble, about getting into and out of it, and how trouble seems to be a necessary stage on the route to becoming.

All the magic and glass mountains and talking birds and part-time serpents are distractions from the core of most of the stories, the struggle to survive against adversaries, to find your place in the world, and to come into your own.

These stories are almost always the stories of the powerless. They are children's stories not in why they were made for but in their focus on the early stages of life, when others have power over you and you have power over no one.

In them, power is rarely the right tool for survival anyway.

Rather the powerless thrive on alliances, often in the form of reciprocated acts of kindness -- from beehives that were not raided, birds that were not killed but set free or fed, old women who were saluted with respect.

Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. Prepare to...read.

I love fairy tales – least of all because I am in one.

No, I love fairy tales because they are stories of the powerless, of youngest sons, abandoned children, orphans, of humans transformed into birds and beasts or otherwise enchanted away from their own lives and selves.

Like a true fairy tale character, I am powerless tonight.

But I do have an act of kindness, in hopes, no matter how delusional, that there are enough of you here tonight willing to genuinely hear me out.

My act of kindness is this very speech – the willingness to, in a game of double dealing and deceit, provide a little bit of clarity.

If I wasn't before, I am the easy, clear target tonight, thanks to my own imperfections, misjudgments, and actions so far. You can all vote me out unanimously, and feel comfortable another round.

Or, like in a fairy tale, the powerless can band together.

We don't have to be supporting players in someone else's story. We can be the storytellers.

This has been an amazing cast. I respect you all. Do what's best for your game.

It is awesome and amazing to me that John Locke may have actually been the swing vote for me winning this game. hahahaha

I voted for you in Lost... and now you voted for me.

Thank you, Man.

I appreciate your vote and your kind words in your voting Booth...

It did come full circle!

More than happy to have returned the favor all these years later. You earned it.
