Tell ya what, when you finish the sites why don't you register them at the Majesty webring? So that the webring links on the HoA page actually go someplace relevant.

Or actually, maybe we could set up a HoA webring?

Edit: well, the Majesty webring doesn't seem to work, so nevermind the first idea.
The second, though... opinions?

As for Dreamweaver, using it doesn't make you a pansy, and doing everything in Notepad doesn't make you a hardcode web developer. There's a wide range of programs with a plethora of features. Choose what works for you and stick to it.

Dreamweaver or any other program still requires coding within it to even get CLOSE to making a website.

You can sit there for 5 hours if yer like with notepad.. or use dreamweaver and get it done in about 30mins :P

Its a bit like making tea...

Lob yer suger in
strainer on top
add leaves
boil water
add water
stir suger in bottom with the so called flavor

OR

Lob Suger in and teabag!
boil water
add water
Stir
Get rid of :P

See, makes things easier to choose the teabag instead of the tealeaves.

Using a GUI system makes website development a doddle, i dont know anyone in thier right frame of mind who would use notepad for a typical website such as the ones that are being discussed. :P

Well, I have nothing against using a GUI system.

I use notepad for all my coding, I like it.

I also pretty much have to use that cause I can't afford Dreamweaver...

Karmic-Maybe making a How web ring would work out nice...

I advise the free version of AceHTML.

Found here:

http://software.visicommedia.com/en/produc...cehtmlfreeware/

I use the paid version. It has a built-in syntax checker, test browser, can add in sections of code you don't know with a click of a button but is still text-based.

The paid variety checks like 16 different languages for syntax.

That looks good, I'll remember that...

But for now just plain out coding it in notepaid works for me... I'll probley try it after I'm done rebuilding MG.

Well, I use EditPlus myself. It has syntax highlighting (easily extendable with user-created files for different languages), excellent code formatting options, built-in browser and FTP client, cliptext (for inserting predefined pieces of code), project manager that lets you group related files and easily access them, keystroke recorder and more.

Is that free, if not how much did you pay, Karmic?
