Oh people...first of all..we are ALL whores in some way...second of all... see the "winkie winkie" face...it generally (now I could be wrong...but I doubt it) means I am only teasing... don't tell me with all your collected so called intellect, the blondest wizardress in all of HoA has to explain the emoticons to you! <------- p.s. smiley face means I am just being playful and happy. LOLp.p.s Dumble...it depends on who is asking and what they are paying... as far as being a "working lady" is considered that is... ;-) |

Given the way you always say "my blond is showing." I cannot really judge how they would think. However, I'm not interested in someone who would give away their bodies to a stranger for any reason. This is madness. (This is sparta! (was necesary) ) |

Well I suppose that depends on your definition of "whore". If you define it broadly as, "a person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain", it might be applicable to a number of people (but not everyone). Just so you know, I did realize you were joking. Even so, some people might take offense to such things, even in jest (though apparently, you aren't one of them). Personally, I'm always leery about such things because repetitious joking can eventually debase the perception of one's character. It does remind me of an old joke though... Winston Churchill: Madam, would you sleep with me for a million pounds? Lady: Yes sir, I would. Winston Churchill: Would you sleep with me for five pounds? Lady: Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?! Winston Churchill: Madam, we've already established that. Now we are haggling about the price. |

Dumble...I realize that you realize that I realize that you were joking... LOL I have 3 older brothers..it takes a LOT to offend me (they used to hold me down and fart on my head for God's sake!), and if I can't laugh at myself...I have to laugh at somebody else...and that makes people mad...so..I usually just laugh at myself. And for some reason...your Churchill joke reminded me of a joke I heard: This lady was at a party and was seated next to president Rutherford Hayes, who was a nortoriously stoic man... and she said "When I found out I was sitting next to you, Mr. President, I told my girlfriend and she bet me 10 dollars I couldn't get you to say three words, isn't that funny?" He turned to the lady and simply said "You lose." (Of course, I THINK it was Hayes, I can't remember for certain.)

I've heard that joke attributed to several different people. |

I'm sorry, I don't see what's wrong with the original idea. She's not hurting anyone and she's doing it of her own free will. She's a big girl and looks like she can take care of herself. So who cares if she's trading sex for WoW currency? It's what she values and thinks is an equal/fair trade. |

I suppose so. As for the question of whether this was prostitution... well... insofar as it was an proposal of physical intimacy in exchange for material gain rather than intrinsic personal attraction, yes, effectively, it was. Insofar as a virtual gryphon may be considered 'material.'
That kind of assumes the person it question had principles to begin with. How exactly do you distinguish a golddigger from a high-price escort? ...The latter's honesty? |

The thing is, that's not the question. Almost everyone, if honest, would admit that it IS prostitution. The question is whether that makes it a bad thing. |

And again, who cares whether it is prostitution or not? Is it affecting any of us in any way? |

It's making us laugh and giving us something to talk about. I call that a good thing. |

Prostitution's kinda-technically against the law, I vaguely recall? But hey, I'm the last one to favour legislating morality. I guess it's just a comment on the lengths people will go to to get ahead in these virtual economies. I suppose if I ever find myself outbid on an item auction due to a competitor's cup size, it could become an issue. Though given the extent to which player trading is fundamentally broken to start with, probably not. |
