"Jodi wrapped her legs around his waist, and they did those motions that usually feel really good. There were awkward noises, and then they came and there were awkward fluids. All was well."

personality. Julian Lamora is a hard man to explain at the best of times. He always seems reserved, and quiet and yet there’s also something foreboding about the way the man carries himself, something powerful by the way he walks even. Anyone who know’s the Lamora family would say that Julian is a mere kitten compared to them – infact most are surprised the family don’t eat their own young if the truth be known. They are a ruthless bunch by nature, something that has been passed down through generations of ‘pure blood’. Some people blame Lamora’s blood for his demeanour, he seems to think he is higher than those he finds himself around because of his name and wealth though the truth is, there are many better people out there. Kindness is definitely not something that Lamora is known for, being lenient with anyone outside his own house would also be out of his character as well. The man has favourite associates of course and they tend to be people he can see little bits of himself reflected in. Anyone who has a quick enough tongue to get them out of trouble with Lady Kalika is definitely ok in Lamora’s book since it’s his quick tone and dry humour that have saved his skin many times in the past. Along time ago when Lamora was a student, he was a very different man, but somewhere along the line the hardwiring for his morals seemed to malfunction. These days the man is callus to the extreme with a temper that can be set off in a matter of seconds by the stupidest or tiniest remark. Most of the time, Lamora seems to move with deliberate poise and grace – even for someone of his height and impressive build, and yet when he is enraged, all that seems to change, he let’s his tongue run freely and the manners of which he is so proud tend to be flung out of the window.

Unlike some of the people in this place, Lamora isn’t cheery at all, according to him, the ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ thing is a lie parents tell their children to make them think it will all smell of roses in the end. It would be fair to say that Lamora is abit of a pessimist who is generally unafraid of hiding the fact. Lamora is quite a quiet guy, it’s not that he’s shy, it’s just that most of the time he has better things to do than make idle chit chat with people he doesn’t know all that well. For that very same reason, Lamora doesn’t have millions of friends but even that adds to his cool, dark and smouldering stand-offish look. It’s the kind of look you see in the films where the guy always has his way with the ladies, and having said that, it would be fair to wonder if some of Lamora’s standoffish and smouldering nature is simply an illusion to try and attract the wrong kind of women, the women who will gladly jump into bed with him and not be surprised to see he’s not there in the morning. Lamora is the height of insensitive, it’s not that Lamora is incapable of having feelings for another human-being beyond friendship; it’s more the fact that he has been hurt that way before and since then, has chosen to close the gates on those parts of his emotion save for when he needs to sweet talk the fairer sex into letting him do something against rules or morals.

Lamora is only a social creature when he thinks he can get something out of the people around him. What he wants out of people usually varies, if he’s sat beside some low life at a bar then he’s looking for a verbal fight, if he’s with a barmaid then his intentions are probably alittle more physical than that. Lamora generally doesn’t make friends, he makes allies and they have to prove they have something he wants before he’ll even acknowledge them. If they don’t have something he wants then they’ll end up getting the cold shoulder, just like anyone else who fails to stand up to Lamora’s requirements.
Let’s go back to dark and smouldering shall we? What exactly does that mean? Well to be honest it would be hard to explain if it wasn’t such a big part of Lamora’s personality. When you look at Lamora for any length of time, the first thing you notice is that he spends most of his time frowning or with a relaxed expression on his face. This is because he has quite a hard sense of humour to tap into. It takes a pretty witty comment to get even a chuckle out of the man – but don’t get the wrong idea, he’s not totally emotionless, he’s just a challenge. On the rare occasions that Lamora does smile [or even grin] it’s usually when he’s slightly under the influence of alcohol which happens more often than is probably appropriate for one in his line of work. Lamora doesn’t take kindly to being made a fool of though, if he happens to be drunk and does something stupid, don’t bring it up later your you might just regret it, if you’ve done him a wrong in the past – say like dumping him for some no good ex-ravenclaw then he’ll do his best to forget about it, Lamora doesn’t know how to laugh at himself and things that have happened in the past, he’s definitely one to hold a grudge. He’s also not the kind to admit that things are his fault or that he did something wrong that spark events that weren’t to his liking. He simply shrugs off anything bad he says in the hopes that people will forget or simply put it down to him being... well Julian.

Whilst others get themselves in a tizzy, Lamora can stop, consider what’s going on around him and come up with an appropriate course of action to take. Of course this is not always the case, it it’s a situation that concerns a member of his family or someone he holds close, he will tend to over react and show an array of emotions you didn’t think he had in him.

Getting angry is not something Lamora enjoys but something that he, like all humans is capable of. Of course these are rare occasions and only tended to be when he’s pushed to the absolute limit of what he’s willing to take. Sadness is also another thing that Lamora doesn’t like to openly display, disappointment though is one thing he will let you know about without any hesitation. It takes a lot to get Lamora’s respect but it only takes one silly mistake to lose it as well as making the man disappointed in you, needless to say it’s not a nice feeling when Lamora’s piercing eyes are looking at you and openly judging you on whatever it was that let you down.

It’s all these character flaws that make him such a good minion to the dark lady though, if he lacked the discipline he shows at work or the drive for perfect then he wouldn't have made it this far as a follower. It might be the only good thing people have to say about Lamora, but it’s definitely true. Lamora get’s results by whatever means necessary.

history. Nicholas Ian Lamora was born on the 25th of October some twenty nine years ago. He was a quiet child who didn’t cry unless there was no other way of getting what he needed. Julian was a healthy child and one that seemed more interested in his surroundings than the people in them. He was never an easily scared young child and didn’t complain of being scared of the dark or put up fights at bathtimes. He was the younger of two siblings, Victoria, his sister, a good three years older detested her little brother. It seemed that he got more attention when he was silent than she did when she screamed until her face turned blue. Of course infront of her parents, Victoria would act like the perfect older sister, holding her brother’s hand and teaching him how to draw houses for example. But when no one else was around, she was a right little cow. She would shove him over, ignore him, say spiteful things, but Julian was so used to it that he took the whole thing with a pinch of salt and assumed that that was how every older sister treated their little brother. Julian went through primary school thinking that he was something more special than the rest of the children. Of course it was a magical primary school but that didn’t stop him thinking it. Even from a young age he would walk around with an heir of superiority over his class mates. This superiority complex lasted right up until he started Hogwarts, it was then that he began to realise that he wasn’t the best at everything and that to be noticed he would have to do more than talk with a better accent than the rest of the kids and come in the latest designer labels.

Nope, Hogwarts presented young Julian with new challenges that he faced head on. The first challenge was the sorting hat. Julian had walked up there with his head held high and the eyes of the school firmly on him – his sister’s as well. She was willing him to be sorted into a different house so the emphasis would not shift from her, her prayers were not answered. Julian became part of the Slytherin house and thanks to his name and status, he was welcomed with open arms – though the fact that even then he was cute might also have had something to do with it. Victoria decided to alienate herself from her brother, knowing that people would always prefer him over her. Well it was true, she lacked the charisma he carried off so well, she lacked the will to succeed and the drive to be better than the rest. The only thing she had going for her were her looks and her knack for cheating. Julian knew he would have to use all his ‘talents’ to best effect and that he would have to work hard to be noticed in this place, and so for the first three years of school, the boy over studied, staying up an hour or two later than the rest of his housemates to get an extra couple of pages or spells nailed even though they wouldn’t be learning it in class for weeks. Of course the extra work paid off and soon Julian was putting some of the Ravenclaws to shame – much to his house’s elation.

Julian’s fourth year was an interesting one. It started rather oddly after a rather traumatic summer holiday to Mongolia with his family. Many times they had been told that swimming in the rivers and lakes was a bad idea and his parents knew full well why though apparently they hadn’t wanted to scare their children by telling them the stories of the Kappas that supposedly lurked in the waters there. Of course Victoria simply had to know where as Julian was more than happy to take the parent’s word for the fact he didn’t want to go in there. When Victoria found out, she thought it would be hilarious to try and scare Julian with the knowledge. Of course Julian had no idea what a Kappa even was so when his sister repeatedly nudged him on the river bank, he put up quite alot of resisitance, he tried too hard, over balanced and fell straight in – finding out the hard way that Kappa’s really do live in Mongolia as well. The horrible little thing grabbed Julian and dragged him down deep into the water. Victoria screamed like a banshee the whole time which was the only thing that alerted their dad to the danger. In hindsight, Victoria kind of wished she’d never screamed out though she knew her parents would hate her even more for letting their favourite son die at the hands of a Kappa. Ianto Lamora dived in with little concern for his own life. He dragged Julian and the Kappa out of the water, the damned thing had seemed rather intent on not letting go of Julian’s neck and even when Davina shot a few nasty spells it’s way the thing still clamped on to Julian’s neck. Only when a local guide threw some kind of nasty smelling potion at it did the Kappa release the boy and slink back into the water. Julian never went on a family holiday again and refused to ever go swimming afterwards. Two facts that Victoria still finds amusing.

Of course the only people who know about the Kappa incident and Julian’s hatred for water there after, would be Charlie Connelly and Travis Beatie – the only two people outside Julian’s own house that he was ever friends with. The relationship with Travis was always strained – a fact that doesn’t surprised many when they realised what it was that had drawn the two men together in the first place. Charlie Connelly was the only reason the two even talked let alone acting as friends. It might surprise you to know though that Lamora once abandoned his house principles to actually pursue Connelly. Her beauty was something that Julian just couldn’t ignore. Red hair for him is a killer and that stick thin body of hers, well Julian could just kiss it all over and has on more than one occasion. For the longest time, Connelly and Lamora were a couple, a fact that lost both alot of friends but gained them alot of respect with those who liked the ideas of the house divides being overruled. Of course Julian’s intentions weren’t always honourable. His attraction to Charlie was mainly on a physical level even back then and the fact she was a muggle born was pushed aside as soon as Julian realised he had a chance of getting the physical attention he craved. Their relationship became official in their sixth year, but, even though they were the most well known couple in Hogwarts at the time, their relationship was anything but smoothe. They were from two very different worlds and often didn’t see eye to eye on things. Not only that, there was also the added interference of Travis Beatie, who, although never making a move, always seemed to be waiting around for his chance to strike.

When the trio graduated, Travis went his own way, deciding that travelling was for him, Charlie and Julian on the other hand, chose the same university so they could stay together for as long as possible. Julian enjoyed the party life that university had to offer and even though he made it his mission to attend at least one party a fortnight, he kept up with his studies – even if his new routine annoyed Charlie no end. She took her studies far more seriously and as far as Julian was concerned, she became a real stig in the mud. Never the less, their strained relationship stayed intact. Of course Julian’s fidelity was always in question, not that he ever gave a straight answer, according to him, anything that happened during one of their breaks was strictly unrelated and couldn’t be used against him, which, even to Charlie sounded like an admission of guilt. It was probably Julian’s lack of emotional and physical devotion that sent their relationship hurtling for the rocks at the end of the third year of university. It was then that Travis wrote to say that he was coming back and that he would be there for their graduation. He was and it was that day that Charlie and Lamora promised one another they wouldn’t be a couple anymore, it was just to painful for the both of them. Lamora was never happy about the promise and soon saw that it had just left the door wide open for Travis who, after waiting an appropriate amount of time, swept Charlie off her feet with his geeky appeal.

Julian took a year out after university, he visited his parents but not his sister. She had left the family to find her feet apparently and although Julian has no idea what that means even now, he has a feeling that it might have been a bad thing. Julian’s parents urged him to do something prestigious with his life, perhaps join the ministry and work his way to the top. But no, that would take Julian too long, he would be an old man before he got anywhere. And so he scowered the papers looking for positions he would be qualified to take.
