I just bought this movie (at a horrendous price) and finally managed to watch it this evening. I had already read the book, so I kinda knew what to expect, but still it was a little different. I think I liked the book better, and I certainly think that the movie is a little overhyped. Certainly not worth the money, considering how expensive it was. It was okay, but not good enough to warrant the high price. And now for the discussion... |

It was on TV once, but I didn't watch it. On Pink Floyd's album Meddle, the last track, Echoes, synchronises with the final segment of the film. The song was released 3 years after the movie, is the same length as the final segment, and Pink Floyd were requested by Stanley Kubrick to make the music for the film, but the band declined, and Roger Waters (bassist, led Pink Floyd 1969-1984) regretted it. |

When was Pink Floyd started? Because the movie was released in 1968, one year before the moon landings. |

The band was formed in 1965. In 1968 Syd Barrett, who led the band, left because of his mental health (Asperger's syndrome and LSD) and their music changed from psychadelic to progressive. |

Interesting. A pity Barret left the band, it would have been great to know that people with Asperger can do things too. Bah, I'll blame it on the LSD. BTW, out of curiosity I just wonder if you know what Asperger syndrome is?
No wonder, I was lucky to even find it. At least it was on DVD. Can't stand VHS, as there is so much more tinkering needed to watch them on a computer. |

Actually, over here it comes on TV sorta infrequently, since we have a few channels like AMC and TCM (American Movie Classics and Turner Classic Movies, respectively) that show old movies from the '80s and before (all the way back to the old black and white films). However, as I almost never watch TV anymore... |

Hey, then there's two of us!
That's the final proof. You are my twin brother. Forget about age difference. There is no other explanation. |

Couldn't agree more. I paid 330 NOK (ca 50 USD) for it, but it's only worth a third of that. But it was so damn hard to track down I had no choice.

You paid that much, that was a bigger rip off for you than it was for me. |

I saw the first few minutes of it when it was on TV, then I turned it off. I may want to watch it once I have Meddle to see if it synchronices, but I haven't tried the Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of the Moon synchronize yet. |
