Since the new concept of "reputation" is introduced, here are the five current factions you can gain reputation with. More factions might be added later.

  • The army of the North
  • The army of the South
  • Telomar
  • The Sons of Zedefer
  • The Brotherhood
Things to keep in mind when gaining reputation:

  • To gain reputation with a faction, do missions for it
  • Having a good reputation with a faction enables you to buy better stuff from that faction. Some equipment can only be obtained with a good reputation with a certain faction
  • Everybody starts out with a neutral reputation with Telomar, The Sons and The Brotherhood
  • Notherners start out with a very good reputation with the North
  • Southerners start out with a very good reputation with the South
  • Neutrals start out with a neutral reputation with everybody
  • Reputation is a "hidden" stat; only I know your exact reputation with any faction
  • The two armies don't like each other
  • Telomar doesn't care about what reputation you have with the two armies
  • The Sons and The Brotherhood don't like each other
  • Telomar likes neither The Sons nor the Brotherhood
  • The two armies couldn't care less for what reputation you have with The Sons or The Brotherhood
  • The two armies have a slight dislike for Telomar
If you are not neutral you can switch sides by getting a good reputation with the other side. Just remember that this will get you the "traitor" stamp by the faction you leave, which makes you Kill-On-Sight and makes it very hard for you to get a good reputation with that faction.
