Minor Changes Thread

HL (or General; one or the other) made another change w/o telling us, so I'm announcing it here.

As some of you may or may not have noticed, our Elite Mods' member names now show up as a different shade of blue. This is to differentiate them from the Admins' dark blue color scheme. Previously both were the same shade of blue, with the only difference being that the Admin's names were bolded. As this may have led to some confusion for new members, the color has been changed.

The RPG Owner group has been edited for similar reasons, to differentiate it from the Ultimate Mod group.

Also, as of now, this thread is the official thread to announce minor changes that may not really affect the board that much but still need to be announced in order to prevent rumors that this forum is secretly run by Romanov restorationists who are plotting to overthrow Russia's current government and place an easily-controllable puppet on the throne, then use him to take over the world :p

Great idea.

Mods have been changed from blue, to aqua.

RPG owners from red to orange.

What I don't get is why we have so many different moderator groups in the first place. Mod, RPG Owner and Orc Mod is OK, what do we need all the Super Mod, Elite Mod, Ultimate Mod for?

Orc mod is your custom group TP and no one else should have it except you so we'd still need Super mod and Ultimate mod is needed because it has an admin forum mask which allows both the viewing and access to 'secret' areas of the board, but only the root admin group has ACP access. As for elite mods i too don't see much use for them they could be regular members but still retian modship over their designated forums. And as for who changed the colors of the user group names that was all HL's doing not mine. I was surprised when i first noticed that an RPG owner's name was suddenly orange instead of red, and the admin logs will prove this so take a look at them sometime SP.

EDIT: The user groups Elite mod and RPG owner are no more, but fear not for users in those groups should still retain their mod powers over their designated forums.

RPG Owners and Elite Mods (basically just regular "mods") were originally created to help people to distinguish between ordinary members and people who are on the forum's "staff." Personally I don't mind that RPG Owners are gone, but I'd prefer Elite Mods (preferrably under just plain "Moderator," though, since "Elite Mod" is a tad too high-sounding for an individual forum) to be restored unless Hl says something.

Still, I'll await his judgement and won't take any actions until he has given his opinion on the matter.

Admin, Moderator and Orc Moderator should do it IMHO.

I don't really see why we need more Mod groups, either you're a mod or you aren't. (Orc Mod is something else, somebody's got to keep the mean green killing machines in check.)

Eh, since everyone else's either ambivalent or opposed to it, I'll just go w/ the majority decision.

Nobody has anything cool next to their name, if we don't count avatars.

Regular mods don't need a special group because it wasn't the group that gave them mod privileges, it was Admins that assigned them those. But if you feel so strongly that they need their own group then by all means give them one SP. Though i think considering the number of members on this board having a group that basically is no different from the regular member group just for a few people is IMHO, highly unnecessary.

As long as it's clear that they are mods and not just regular posters I'm fine with anything.

I suppose i could make the group and call it Moderators. Any objections?

EDIT: The group has been made but i'll leave it up to either HL or SP to put the people in it. :p
