The first of the Inheritance trilogy. A farmer who lives with his uncle and cousin stumbles upon a mysterious blue oval-shaped stone while hunting in the mountains near his village. It turns out to be a dragon egg, thus triggering bad events that cause him to have to leave home, and eventually learn he is to be a Dragon Rider. It's an excellent book, along with its sequel (Eldest). Anyone who likes dragons, fantasy novels, and adventure stories should look into reading it.

I haven't read it, but i'm thinking of checking it out from a library.
"Roses, Daisies, Tulips, and even Lilacs can be deadly to those who suffer from floral allergies. So beautiful to look at and smell but a weapon none the less, whether it be the thorns of the rose or the toxic pollen of a petunia; Flower power is just as mighty as any sword!"

I bought the book several weeks ago and found it interesting, then promptly forgot about it while I was distracted by other things and let it get buried under mountains of stuff in my room. Still, from what I remember of it, it's a pretty interesting book.

There was also a movie made recently, I think, but I haven't seen it.

Also, nice to see the Media section getting some activity :)

Ick! Don't watch the movie! It's horrible! >.< More horrible than most book-to-movies...more horribly taken from the book than the Harry Potter movies, which I thought was impossible. It's basically as if they took the Cliff Notes of the book, summarized them, took the main points and broke them down and twisted them around and added their own things to it while taking away important details, hired the worst actors and scrriptwriters they could, and made a movie of it.

Anyway, you should keep reading it if you liked it, it gets a lot better, especially in Eldest.
