What are some books everyone would reccomend for different genres? Some I would reccomend I'm going to list...

Fantasy:
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien
the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling
Eragon (and Eldest) by Christopher Paolini
The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan
A Midsummer Night's Dream by Sir William Shakespeare
Macbeth by Sir William Shakespeare

Action/Adventure:
I'm not sure if it'd fall here but Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. It could also fall under Sci-fi.
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton could also fall under Sci-fi. Most likely belongs there.

Classic (aka things people would make you read for school):
Romeo and Juliet by Sir William Shakespeare
Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee
The Odyssey originally by Homer, but there are several re-writes of course
Animal Farm by George Orwell

I haven't read much outside of fantasy and classic that I'd reccomend, so yeah.
...An enemy that is pure evil? Right and wrong are not what separate us and our enemies. It's our different standpoints, our perspectives that separate us. Both sides blame one another. There's no good or bad side. Just 2 sides holding different views.

You should read Evangeline. It'll change your life. You'll never be the same.

I was talking about in general, not for me...I don't need any personally.

Kurt Vonnegut, Kurt Vonnegut, Kurt Vonnegut.
That's who I recommend. A style of writing that is so different you'll be in shock. He was a satirist, very Twain like. If you enjoy Twain then run to your book store or library and buy/take all Kurt Vonnegut's books. I recommend reading a bit of his book before buying, his style is very different.
Books to try of his:
Cat's Craddle
Slaughter House V
Breakfast of Champions (nothing to do with the cereal)

My personal recommendation list:

Fantasy
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, by JRR Tolkein
(and that's about it... Don't read much fantasy)

Science Fiction
Starship Troopers, by Robert Heinlein
Have Space Suit, Will Travel, by Robert Heinlein
The Foundation Trilogy, by Isaac Asimov
The "Gaunt's Ghosts" series of Warhammer 40,000 novels, by Dan Abnett
The "Ciaphas Cain" series of Warhammer 40,000 novels, by Sandy Mitchell
The "Grand Admiral Thrawn" trilogy of Star Wars novels, by Timothy Zahn
The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells
Dune, by Frank Herbert (and maybe the first two or three sequels, too)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams
World War Z, by Max Brooks

Other Fiction
Animal Farm, by George Orwell
Hamlet, by William Shakespeare
War and Peace, by Leo Tolstoy
The Portrait of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde
Moby Dick, by Herman Melville
All The King's Men, by Robert Penn Warren
The Blue Max, by Jack Hunter
The Odyssey, by Homer
Treasure Island, by Robert Louis Stevenson
Gulliver's Travels, by Johnathan Swift
Shogun, by James Clavell

Nonfiction / Biography
Pretty much anything about World War II or the American Civil War
A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the Most Notorious Pirates, by Capt. Charles Johnson
The Beatles, by Bob Spitz
Caesar's Commentaries (on the Gallic and Civil Wars)
The Histories, by Herodotus
The Twelve Caesars, by Suetonius

Politics, Religion, and Philosophy
The Gospel of John
The Art of War, by Sun Tzu (translated by Samuel B. Griffith)
The Prince, by Niccolo Machiavelli
The Book of Five Rings, by Miyamoto Musashi (translated by Stephen F. Kaufman)

Poetry
"The Raven," by Edgar Allan Poe
"Ozymandias," by Percy Bysshe Shelley

All of these are books that I've read at least in part; I haven't included the dozens upon dozens of books that I've wanted to read but haven't gotten to yet.

I read Dune five or six years ago, it was really good. Made me thirsty though.

A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. I started reading it last fall. It's become one of my favorites, right up there with Wheel of Time.

One book series that I got recommended and began reading is The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. At the moment I almost finished the fourth volume.
I beg for my tummy to be scratched...
