It's not as stupid as it sounds. In fact, it's kind of awesome. They take the basic story of Romeo and Juliet and put it into a different world entirely. Basically, the Montague family murdered the Capulet family and took over control of the kingdom/dukedom/whatever it is, I forgot. Juliet managed to escape with help from a few people and they went into hiding. She doesn't know she's the last survivor of the Capulet house (she was little when this happened), and she takes on a sort of Robin Hood type role, going around and saving people from the oppressive rule of the Montagues. Oh, and she sword fights too. During this, she meets Romeo, who is a lot gentler than his father and disagrees with how he does things. As the story goes, they meet at a festival, love at first sight, blah blah blah.

There are a few plot twists and several cameos of characters from other Shakespeare plays, even Shakespeare himself (yay Willy the playwright!). The ending is kind of cool, kind of rushed and confusing, but a LOT different than the play. Most of the story is a lot different than the play. And the world floats, too. And there are flying horses. And Tybalt is cool. And Benvolio's kind of a wimp.

Anyway...I spent an entire day watching this anime after I watched a skit for it at Anime Boston (look it up on YouTube or just ask for the link, it's AMAZING even if you have no interest in watching it). It was so good...
...An enemy that is pure evil? Right and wrong are not what separate us and our enemies. It's our different standpoints, our perspectives that separate us. Both sides blame one another. There's no good or bad side. Just 2 sides holding different views.
