The one from Complete Warrior is the Crescent Moon style. It's pretty cool but unfortunately it does not work with a rapier. The Rapier & Dagger style is from the Swashbuckler article in Dragon 301. Essentially it gives be a +1 to attack when I use both a rapier and dagger. |

Talk to nick about Crescent Moon style. It seems like something a rapier/ dagger combo would do. I don't see any reason including the rapier would unbalance anything. Then you could do both. |

I have no problem allowing the rapier for the crescent moon style. And yes, I like the idea of you using rouge abilities to get some extra treasure. |

I found another class combo feat in the Complete Scoundrel which I've copied below. This one combines features from the fighter and the Ninja and I was hoping I could use elements of it with the Rogue/Swashbuckler feat Daring Outlaw that I copied earlier. The Complete series has quite a few of these combo feats to mix both classes in the PH and new classes from the complete series. Some of them are fairly exotic like Druid/Monk so it's a little annoying that they don't have one for something as basic as a Fighter/Thief. Martial Stalker You practice a powerful fighting style that focuses equally on martial skill and mystical dedication. Prerequisite: Proficiency with all martial weapons, ki power. Benefit: Your fighter and ninja levels stack for the purpose of determining the size of your ki pool, as well as your AC bonus. For example, a 5th-level fighter/1st-level ninja with this feat could use his ki powers a number of times equal to 3 (one-half his ninja and fighter levels) + his Wisdom bonus (if any), and would have a +1 bonus to AC (as if he were a 6th-level ninja). Your fighter and ninja levels also stack for the purpose of qualifying for feats that require a minimum fighter level, such as Greater Weapon Focus. Special: A fighter can select Martial Stalker as one of his fighter bonus feats (PH 38). Here is the feat I created taking the Fighter and Rogue abilities from Martial Stalker and Daring Outlaw. Daring Fencer You combine grace and extraordinary combat prowess to great effect. Prerequisite: Sneak attack +2d6, Proficiency with all martial weapons Benefit: Your rogue and fighter levels stack for the purpose of determining your sneak attack bonus damage. For example, a 7th-level rogue/4th-level fighter would deal an extra 6d6 points of damage with her sneak attack, as if she were an 11th-level rogue. Your fighter and rogue levels also stack for the purpose of qualifying for feats that require a minimum fighter level, such as Greater Weapon Focus. Special: A fighter can select Daring Fencer as one of his fighter bonus feats (PH 38). |

It would be maybe a little unbalanced if you were planning on taking one level of fighter and the rest rogue, but since it is the other way around, it doesn't seem overpowered. Or at least on par with the other multiclass feats. If it were an alternate class feature, it would be too good, but since you have to use a feat, its ok. You might include an actual fighter level requirement, or Base attack requirement, so that people would have to take at least a few levels of fighter. 2d6 sneak attack is 3rd rogue right? So you could take this feat at level 4 as your fighter bonus feat, your (hypothetical) first level of fighter, if you were trying to min/max it. But you are going to have more levels of fighter than rogue right? So you won't get 2d6 sneak until, what, 6th or so? That seems totally okay to me. I'm just trying to see if the feat is breakable, but it seems breaking it would be the opposite of where you are going, so that is cool. |

On the other hand, if you have almost 4 levels of fighter there is less benefit to take the feat. I'm just seeing the breakability of the feat for a rogue to take one level of fighter and a feat to gain the unique ability of the fighter to specialize. But now that I think about it, even that is not that broken. You still have to take the feat weapon specialization, which would be a lot harder as a rogue, who has less feats. And because of the prereqs, you have to have 3 levels of rogue, so it is not broken the other way. Well, I guess it seems okay! |

The requirements for the Noble Adventurer PrC are: Base attack bonus +4 Diplomacy, Knowledge (nobility and royalty), Ride: 4 ranks each Must have equipment and treasure with a value greater than the starting equipment for a PC of their level, as determined in the DMG Must be literate The earliest I could go into the class is 6th level for which I would need 13,000gp in wealth. I'm not sure exactly how Sebastian would go about becoming a noble. If the opportunity presented itself I'm sure he would do it legitimately but he certainly would not be above charming, bluffing and buying his way into high society under false pretenses, kind of like in The Mask of Zorro. Any new thoughts on that feat? |

I would like to see a minor risk associated with that feat. Like a 1 round AC penalty, or a feint roll, a skill check to make the sneak attack or something to that effect...otherwise, whats so "daring" about the technique? Im not looking for anything drastic, but I envision you going in for the thrust using unconventional - daring - maneuvers.... or am i over reacting.... adam, toast? |

Since there is no penalty to the other multiclass feats, I'm not sure there should be for this one. If it were more powerful, maybe. A better idea is to just change the name? Deathblow Fencer? Decisive Duelist? Something alluding to the concentration on one fatal strike (sneak attack) |

Cool. I was thinking of changing the name to Reliable Fencer but Decisive Duelist sounds pretty cool. At any rate with my planned rate of progression it will be a while before I qualify for the feat.I don't imagine my sneak attack ability being terribly useful at lower levels since I'll mostly be a front line fighter and my colorful attire and wide-rimed feathered hat will probably limit my sneaking. I plan to make the ability more useful later on by taking abilities such as the Acrobatic Backstab skill trick. |

sounds good. Improved feint? Don't know if you have the room. Both you and Kev would benefit from the island of blades martial stance from book of nine swords. you and adjacent allies that threaten an opponent are considered to be flanking. stand and fight sneak attack! |

I don't know the rules from Tome of Battle very well. Wouldn't I need to be one of the classes in the book to take any of the maneuvers? Improved Feint could be good if I can find a place to fit it in. I'm definitely taking Telling Blow from the Player's Handbook II. |
