I thought I'd post my back-up character in here. Just in case bullywugs strike. Feel free to do the same. |

Graymalkin Lane Human Warblade Chaotic Good Stats Str 12 Dex 17 Con 14 Int 16 Wis 13 Cha 13 Class Abilities Maneuvers Known: Stone Bones (SD), Leading the Attack (WR), Moment of Perfect Mind (DM) Stances Known: Punishing Stance (IH) Skills(only those with ranks) Climb +5 Concentration +6 Craft (weaponsmithing) +7 Diplomacy +5 Intimidate +5 Knowledge (local-the Dalelands) +7 Perform (weapon drill) +3 Tumble +7 Feats Dodge Weapon Finesse Bonus Regional Feat ??? Graymalkin is my attempt to make a fighter-type that uses the spiked gauntlet as his signature weapon and still be mechanically ok. I plan to go from warblade into duelist as far as class progression, taking advantage of the fact that Graymalkin is smarter and faster than he is strong. The martial maneuvers he's selected demonstrate that, with Stone Bones giving him extra durability, Leading the Attack giving attack bonuses to his allies and Moment of Perfect Mind allowing him a better chance to save versus those pesky mind-affecting effects. Later on I'll take Stone Power as a feat, allowing him to trade attack bonus for temporary hit points. He'll wear armor at the start of his career, but then later discard it as his confidence in his own abilities increases, i.e. he enters the duelist prestige class at 8th level. There the combination of speed and intelligence will really shine and his AC will greatly increase while unarmored. |

My backups will be (Saubon is a glass cannon frontline combatant with 12 CON): Name: ??? ????? Race: Human Gender: ??? Class: Fighter into Paladin into Cavalier This mysterious warrior will be the quiet soft-spoken type. The name, appearance, gender, nationality, and history of the character will be mysterious. (Nick, you will be informed). Think the Black Knight from Villains By Neccessity and you will be on the right track. Except Lawful Good. 2nd backup Monk or Druid Human Male Sacred Vow, Vow of Poverty. Nick I know you are not the biggest fan of exalted deeds, but the vow of poverty doesn't just let the rest of your party rake in extra coin. You get your share, which you donate to a worthy cause. My idea in this case is the character's family was slaughtered by Zhentarim, and he only escaped by the blood of Harpers putting themselves in harm's way. So he has devoted himself to supporting the Harpers. And a druid with all the benefits of the vow of poverty would be pretty neat. the monk is also a great fit. 3rd backup Human Male Dragon Shaman |

At least there will be no airships in this game. I tend to lose characters in airship crashes at an alarming rate. <Glares at Toast> Poor Miles and his Ape... Saubon will live. I really like the character. Especially the Green Star Adept part. I think we have enough firepower to drop foes quickly. My low hit points shouldn't be too much of a problem. |

I think im going to have to step it up a notch. You all did say you wanted a harder game, so Toast, you will have the dignity of being murdered by Sahugin instead of bullywugs.... |

...unless we make a trip to Halruaa where there are plenty. And there is always the possibility of a crashed spelljammer. |

I put a lot of work into my current character and am quite happy with him so I tried not to think about a back up and concentrate on the present. Of course when I try not to think about something I get all kinds of ideas. I might have to roll some stats Thursday. Paladin of Mystra maybe? It all depends on who else dies. |

IF both our characters die, phil, we should both play paladins. that would be awesome. And then we have toast casting paladin spells too. Just an idea. I very much will try to keep Truesilver alive. I like Sebastian and hope he lives. I like all of our party! |

Vow of Poverty Dragon Shaman: Put everything into CHA. Really skyrocket the Touch of Vitality special ability. (2x DS lvl x CHA mod). Breath weapon doesn't cost anything. Aura doesn't cost anything. Could wield the club or quarterstaff. Yeah, could be pretty cool. |

If you go Dragon Shaman I probably won't go Sylvan Warlock. Guess it all depends on who dies first. At what level did Nick say he'd allow psionics? |

Well, considering I will have average to good AC and mediocre hit dice and low CON, and you will have exceptional AC and mostly d10 hit dice and better CON... lets just say there will unquestionably be some luck or really savvy tactics involved to get me a few levels into Green Star Adept, where the DR will help keep me alive. Once I get to the capstone of GSA, I will finally (at 15th) become very hard to kill. If I do die first, though, I really should look to fill our Arcane caster position. Alienist? Warmage? Runecaster? Honestly, I'd love to go Dread Witch from Heroes of Horror. Someone good (has to be) but with a real chip on his/her shoulder. Looking to give the bad guys some big payback. Or, I was looking through my old D&D stuff and found a base class I was making called the Witch. I remember reading the section in the DM's guide on how to make your own class and how their example, the Witch, was totally lame. So I set about making a better one. It needs some work still, but I was surprised at the level of cool it had. The emphasis was on charms and potions, with some nature, healing, and necromantic magic thrown in. There was a class feature called Wicked Power, Withered Body, where the physical stats went down, and the mental stats went up. At really high levels, the Witch got Binding, and permanent, powerful love spells. Anyway, I thought it was cool. It would solve a bunch of our arcane needs, since the spell list was definitely tech-oriented. |

I think there was a pretty cool Witch class in a really early Dragon Magazine. I've always kind of liked the idea of taking single levels in 20 different classes. There are so many different ones out there I think you could mix and match and find class abilities that stack. I'm not sure how you would roll-play it beyond your character being really indecisive. The characters saves would be AMAZING though. |
