Perhaps it is for the best that we have been offered the path of adventure, as well as a letter of Marque to make it legal. I think seeing the world will give me the experience and wisdom required to be the pillar of House Truesilver that I am meant to become. Returning with a vast fortune would not hurt, either. As long as we don't see any more action like in the Stormhorns. Not my idea of fun. Still, a part of me longs to return there when I and my crew have more experience. I would love to see the tables turned on those green little monsters. More trouble than their cousins, those pig-faced orcs, that is for certain. We did quite well, our little group. Half a dozen orcs slain, slaves freed. Yes, a good victory. Not quite sure what to think about this Raven Master fellow, though. Doesn't seem to be with the program. Don't really think he is loyal to the crown. Not smart. Cormyr will expand. That is certain. We are a great kingdom. Why would anyone not wish to be part of it? |

So much has happened! We got Shamus to the Shieldmeet in Battledale. Our passage through the Thunder Peaks was a bit hairy though. A Hill Giant tried to squash us with stones from the path above us. Happily, the brute had terrible aim. I covered our retreat, and managed to stick him with an arrow. A long shot, and uphill, but the arrows from the Truesilver armory fly true. Didn't seem to slow him down in the least, but still... We cleared the ambush site, and lost the big bastard in woods. He came crashing after us, but Alice found us a nice secluded spot to hole up for the night. I was for setting an ambush and taking out the threat to the commerce on the road, but my companions (wisely, in retrospect) convinced me this foe was beyond our power. Anyway, the rest of the journey was uneventful. Shieldmeet was spectacular. It is so different over in the Dales. The world is much bigger and crazier than I imagined. I lost five Crowns betting on the Cormyran champion in the tournament, Theodosius, but the match was fairly fought, and the winner a mighty opponent. Shamus, as promised, gave us the map. Ike Underhill, our cleric of Mystra, found Moonletters! Secret notes on the map! We immediately set out researching these findings in Highmoon at the leaves of learning. Treasure we found near smuggler's stone, and a strange floating tower. Then we ran across Kirnwood, and its troubles. The threat turned out to be two shadow dragons!!! Fearsome beasts, especially for being no larger than a mastiff. Several of us, including me, were nearly slain. The horrible breath of those things sapped the life from our bodies. I hope to never feel that again. We triumphed, thanks to the contributions of everyone in our party. Truly a team effort. Back in town, stolen goods returned, dragons trussed up, the old druid returned the life to our withered bodies. And now we look north, back to the Hullack and our letter of marque. And I would be lying if I said a certain Hill Giant didn't have another meeting with Truesilver in his future. Perhaps a bargain can be struck. Cormyr will grow. Better he be our ally than an obstacle. |

On our trip north towards the Hullack, we met on the road the son of the Lord of Wheloon. For some reason, I can't recall his name, but it started with a B. He was accompanied by a bodyguard. Seeing that we were adventurers, and held a Letter of Marque, he requested our help in the doing of a good deed. It turns out that his sister had been kidnapped, and he was on the way to make the exchange, an undisclosed sum of money (he looked very nervous when we inquired how much) for the young lady. His plan was to make the drop, give her an invisibility ring, and then mete out justice at swordpoint. Naturally, I could not leave my countryman alone against these foul villains. Alice and Braddock snuck up from the woods, and we came running from down the road when the signal was given. Through magical fog and arrow fire we rushed, and dealt the scum a fate they had earned, a 'Crimson Fate!!!' Back in Wheloon, the Lord Redbeard rewarded us not in coin or gem, but in land. We were given ten years rights to the manor on Ches Island, in the growing town of Dawngleam. B- was also given a commission and promotion. Leuitenant in the Blue Dragons and his own ship to command! He seemed very excited, and would not shut up about it on the way there. We got our manor cleaned up ( a very creaky old thing, but well built in the old style) and are anxious to get things going. Lindrom commissioned the widow in Kirnwood to start a cider distillery. And more perhaps, but that is between them... Just surprising to find out the Librarian is human after all. What is clear is that he is very smart. I am proud of the way our crew is progressing. |

Did I mention that the kidnapper mage turned out to have a tatoo of the cult of the dragon? Methinks this is going to turn out to be signifigant... |

Well, the isle of Ches just gets more and more interesting. Undead clothes in the Orchard? Really? <sigh> I don't think I'll ever be able to take a relaxing stroll through the orchard. Haunts in the mansion. Ghost Ferryman. Secret altars to Cyric. Mysterious murders that we have to solve before we can sleep in our own house. Methinks Lord Redbeard was not doing us that big a favor when he granted us rights to the island. More him trying to solve a problem. I'm not sure how much I can like a man that sends people into the path of undead without even warning them. He didn't even mention that there are rumors of the place being haunted. I will have a few choice words for him next time we meet. There had better be magic that can reverse the ageing of Lindrom. In fact, I've read a small scrap in a book about a process of infusions of a strange metal that will eventually halt the aging process... We found old man Bollington, shut up in a hovel, bereft of his fortunes and his sanity. I fear we will not receive much help from him. Too bad, since ghostly children with their throats cut and horrible ghostly women that age you a decade with a touch are something that should be taken care of immediately. Mayor Norr didn't seem too helpful either, but perhaps he will show some spirit later. If there are worshippers of Cyric in Dawngleam, I swear they will not long survive our attention. |

The town of Dawngleam seems very sea oriented, and rightly so, considering it is a port town. But the lack of Purple Dragon Knights seems somewhat peculiar to me. Blue Dragons abound, but the lack of those meathead Purple Dragon Knights just doesn't sit right. I must send a request to the Truesilvers in Arabel for current information. If the Army is being mustered somewhere, I'd like to know about it, even if just to know that no cavalry will be available to come racing over the hill if we get in trouble. That crazy witch sea elf disturbs me. I would be lying if I said I didn't think about awful zombie hordes wading up out of the surf. As long as Crimson Fate is by my side, I will not worry. I feel its power growing, and my connection with the Truesilver Spirits with it. |

Victory! Giles turns out to be a Doppleganger, a horrible monstrous shapechanger. Strangely enough, this creature had been turned to even worse evil by a cursed tome, a failed precursor of the legendary Can... Cavelenv.... Starts with a C... Ah, the Truesilver loremasters would be yelling at me for forgetting. Anyway, the Infamous tome that converts any who read it to the service of Cyric. Thank Torm that the book was a lesser version. Lindrom glanced at it to determine its nature, and barely resisted its power. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I interrupted a meeting of the great names of the city, including the mayor and the four great houses. I told them I and my crew were looking into the mysterious problems which they had been fretting over when I arrived. They agreed to allow us some authority in the investigations of these matters. One man implied, however courteously, that the strangeness and deaths started when we moved into the Ches Isle estate, and that we might be the cause. He didn't say so, but the implication was clear. I told him he better have some good evidence before calling the name Truesilver into question, and gave him an icy stare that any Cormyrran Warmage would have been proud of. I suppose I didn't have to, since the truth was that the problems started a long time before we even showed up. We saw old man Giles in the tavern. Sebastion followed him out, but lost him in the crowd. Braddock and Ike went to the old man's place, and found only zombies. Zombies!!! When the rest of our crew arrived (we had to go get Alice, who was drooling over some sailor. Honestly, I don't know what's with that elf) we saw a Large Black Dragon guarding the front door! Lights emanated from within. Eventually we realized the dragon was an illusion, and that the whole block was burning down. The next morning, we nothing in the ruins. Deciding against bothering the reclusive wizard or the sea witch, we checked the graveyard, since we had heard a rumor that some of the corpses of the zombies were recognized. Only by the keen elven eyes of Alice were we set on the right track. A few of the graves had a slight dip. Digging down, we found a passage. We sent the caretaker to get help, and jumped in. It was inside that we found a lab and the foul doppleganger. We could barely hit the thing. Some powerful illusion magics made it hard to focus on. Another piece of the puzzle fit when I think it was Sebastion who spotted the brain in a jar. "Brain in a Jar!" he called out. What was I to do? I swung Crimson Fate with all my might, and channeled a Shocking Grasp spell through it, and destroyed the abomination with one hit. Creepy. Eventually, the Doppleganger fell. Now we can get things moving in Dawngleam. I doubt that all the mystery and intrigue are done with, but maybe the town can reach its potential. |

It has not been that long since I left home to make my fortune in the world. But now that our living situation is settled down a bit, it seems like forever since I left the protected umbrella of House Truesilver. Already, we have been through some pretty nasty situations. Though I still have responsibilities of a noble, I feel that I more have responsibilities TO my crew, rather than FOR them. When I spoke as if they were my subordinates to the council meeting in Dawngleam, I for once did not feel that I was in actuality their superior. Yet at the same time, I am responsible for them, as we are all responsible to each other. Such is the bond of those who face death shoulder to shoulder. My swordmasters and loremasters would be proud, as their training continues to keep me alive, and victorious. It is a good feeling, to have real friends, and not just courtiers that are nice to you. |

Truesilver will oversee the movement of the alchemy lab aparatuses (aparati?) to the island. If the secret room is unholy (unhallow spell) then I will wait to have it consecrated (at least back to normal, if not holy) before moving the lab in there. In the event that it is (we have pretty good k. religion and spellcraft checks) unholy, temporary storage will be the barracks, unless this conflicts with someone else's plans. Truesilver will then take individual meetings with the nobles and great names. My intent is to discover a) as much as I can about the politics of the city and to try to figure out all the damage Fabricus did and try to get everyone to trust each other again and c) find out all i can about the gentleman that was with Lord Redbeard when we were gifted the island.Truesilver is going to try not to spend coin (except for the wand of cure light and field provision box) to save up for the ritual to enchant Crimson Fate. |

One other task Truesilver will perform is the sending of a sealed letter to the King as well as to House Truesilver in both Arabel and Suzail informing them of the original destination of the Cylichan prototype, Suzail. Three copies. The evil of Cyric must not spread. Actually, after he sends the three letters, he will ride to the closest town (Wheloon, i think?) and send a fourth to High Warmage Cotrell, just in case. |

After a brief respite, adventure finds us again. Deadly adventure. We received a mysterious letter which led us to a cleric of Mystra. He seemed very distraught about a newly constructed Temple of Mystra on the outskirts of Wheloon. He seemed to think there is no way a temple could be planned and built without his knowledge, if it were legitimate. When he investigated, he was chased away with arrows! He wanted us to get to the bottom of it. So we did. Everyone but I endured three days and nights of hunger and boredom to gain access to the inner chambers. I would set aside Crimson Fate. It pained me to abandon my comrades, but a solemn oath is a solemn oath. I hope they understand. On the third night, I heard a commotion and managed to slip inside while the guards were in disarray. A good thing; they seemed like average joes, and I would bet whatever evil is going on in the temple is beyond their knowledge, and I would hate to kill them. Inside, I found chaos. Shadowguards, evil clerics in full plate, big black disks and much talk of 'Shar this' and 'Shar that' and 'Shadow Gate blah blah blah'. I hacked down a wizard menacing Sebastian; a powerful, fatal strike. He directed me to help our comrades inside the inner chamber. This is when I let my team down. For what seemed an eternity, I slashed away with Crimson Fate, only to slice air. I got a few hits in, but I felt useless. Unarmed and unarmored, my team was overcoming our foes. Fully equipped, I should have swung the battle decisively in our favor, but I was barely effective. The Spearhead they used to call me. Captain Miss it will be now I fear. I got impatient and ignored the teachings of my blade master. True Strike, attack. My way should be that of the carpenter: measure twice, cut once. One sure hit is worth half a dozen wild swings, that is one thing I learned today. |

Another thing I learned: giant snakes are dangerous. After winning the first skirmish, we healed up and geared up, and broke into the barred door the head cleric had fled through. I, first through the door, was wounded grievously by an ambush. One of my few successful attacks of the night brought one down, and the other soon followed. Then it was on to more shadow guards, the head cleric (of Shar, it turns out), and Displacer Snakes! Lindrom told us briefly about them and helped us better attack them (by the balls of Torm, where does he learn about these things?). Sebastion was disarming people left and right (inspired me to buy a locked gauntlet earlier) and really putting our foes at a disadvantage. Alice turned out to be deadly with a longsword. Lindrom was healing people, casting spells, and shooting guards in the face with arrows. Ike's spiritual Shurikens flew around nibly bimbly and cut things up. Braddock tumbled around and... well, took some hits and generally confused our foes, as well as striking more blows than me. And I... took some hits. Even with Lindrom aiding me, I hit nothing. I suppose I took the curse spell so none of my other teammates had to. A very humbling night for me. I shall not soon forget my failure. I hope my teammates do not judge me too harshly. Humbling but happy to know that they can triumph even without me. Well, here we are, beat up, cursed, dead tired. Dawn should come soon... |
