We stopped at a good place. Next week you will definitely have the chance to stop Despyr once and for all. This is likely to happen early in the session. For the rest of the session you will either be rolling up new characters - or trying to get back to Cormyr. Assuming you are successful, be prepared to level - and maybe think about goals for you PCs and Party as a whole. As i said, once back home you will have a few years to pursue your individual goals before reuniting to search for the shields. |

Sounds like fun. I think I can safely say that I speak for the party when I say Despyr has pallet-full of back-ordered whup-ass that needs to be delivered right to his chops. I we don't cut it in half or destroy it during the Murder of Despyr, we should use his skull as the adornment on the top of our battle standard. |

It sounds like Despyr might be right on the other side of the wall. Did we ever manage to deal with that priestess who kept disappearing on us? It was probably good that we ended the game when we did since these endgame encounters tend to go on longer than we think they will. After we clear this dungeon, assuming Sebastian is still alive, I think his first goal is going to be to get some new weapons so he can hurt monsters with DR 5. If Sebastian doesn't survive I'll get to work on my Sylvan Warlock. |

Since it sounds like we're going to have some down time for a while, assuming we get out of the plane of shadow alive, we should start thinking about what our characters want to do after. In particular I'm thinking about Sebastian having a Lyre of Building and the things he could do with it. Sebastian can't use it to nearly the same extent as Goldshanks but he could get the equivalent of 100 men working for 6 days strait once per week which over long periods of time is huge. I was thinking of building a huge Gormeghast style castle on our island as well as a system of docks and a bridge to the mainland. Some ships would be good too. Nick, is there any change you could post your map of the isle? |

I think the topography of the sea around Dawngleam is such that it's the only safe harbor for miles due to a maze of treacherous reefs. That's why the dock on the island is so small, plus it's so close to the mainland. Why would ships anchor there rather than the mainland dock which has everything right there? Also, remember that we're only leasing the island from the Crown and we've yet to pay our taxes. Why make huge improvements that we may not be able to use if our lease is not renewed? |

Don't let me rain on Sebastian's parade. I forgot that you probably want a finer residence to receive your new noble friends at than our manor house, which is totally cool. I just don't get too into the property building myself. Lindrom will be busy traveling to various sages and libraries, so do what you want! |

No you're probably right. It's a classic renters dilemma. There will probably be a broken down truck up on cinder block sitting on our overgrown lawn in a few months time. I have heard that Cormyr is giving away land on its western border to anyone who can settle it and survive. |

Seriously. Cormyr claims the Stonelands even though they don't really control it. As a result they encourage people to settle the region. Anyone who can build a settlement is awarded the title of Baron and after a couple years, if the settlement is still functioning, Cormyr begins to tax it and will send a contingent of Purple Dragons and War Wizards to help secure the settlement and open trade routs. If the settlement is not still functional the land and title are rescinded. So far no one has succeeded. |

Sounds like we should all (at some point in the future) be addressing each other as Baron. And Baroness!!! What will become of the Barons!!!!?????? surely this time there is no escape!!!!!! And Truesilver is fully behind Sebastion's pimp-your-gifted-property idea. A secure dock, an fortified, private manor and bed and breakfast, and a bridge to the mainland. We must capitalize on the secluded-yet-close-to-town quality of our little isle. |

Late night thought for Phil: would Sebastian consider wielding that magic bastard sword we claimed from the blackguard we slew? It might make you more effective against Dyspyr... |

Remember that Baron is the lowest rank on the noble totem pole. That may be good enough for the other jokers in our party but not for Sebastian and Truesilver.
I might not have any other choice, but if the evil sword dominates me you're the first one I'm coming after. |

FYI - Im not going to go too much into the tax/bureaucratic elements on the isle or else where. I plan on rollin with it - and for practical game flow resons, Ill probably run it relative to the parties wealth. The intent is for Chess Isle to be your home base, and as such you should feel free to improve the isle in anyway you wish. There will be the option to permanently own the isle. |

I'd still like to see our party-members advance their station in life. They are noble in spirit-- have proven so on many occasions-- and deserve the title in law as well. In Truesilver's humble opinion..... |
