So for those of you interested, this is what he told me:

The Red Tide

Level: 10th
Setting: Forgotten Realms

I would like all of the PC's to be human.

Do not worry about your gear and money. Just leave that blank.

Background: Under the guidance of your leader, Captain Shark teeth, you have lived a violent and successful life as pirates amongst his crew. While not the most noted pirate, your ship The Red Tide and your leader have both managed to have a reputation enough to earn them easy surrender amongst their prey and respect from their rivals amongst the pirates. Your Captain is well known as a tiefling and has many vile rumors about him. Most are lies he himself has spread. His crew and himself are generally not remorseless killers, honest in their oaths and loyal to their fellow crews [Something i'd like the players to be]

How do you play these games?

We simply post into a game thread our actions. The big difference between these games and table top, is the focus is more on the details and conversation than game mechanics and combat. There is still combat, and you roll dice, its just takes a diminished roll.

Typically you use bold or another color font for speaking.

Niomi relaxes her weapon as the last skeletal dragon falls. She cracks a small smile when she sees the expression on Giechi's face who didn't even get a chance to strike at the dragons. Looking back at the temple; I wonder how our friend is fairing inside?", reluctantly stepping towards the entrance.

The general etiquette is to attempt to check the game once per day. Obviously the more people post the faster the game, but say 5 posts per week by each player is reasonable. Yes these games move slow, but as the story unfolds they are quite fun. As far as rolling, we will use the honor system. You can literally roll a die and post your results, or use a online dice roller.

Here is an example of a PBHB game I played years ago. Read through a few pages to get a sense of how the games work. I am Math (naturally) playing my gnome gunner I may have told you about...Also note the date of the posts to get a idea of the pace of the game.
