~Liv~

If you look behind, you'll realize that one person followed you north. You can make out the district 8 boy following you.

~Silas~

As you leave north, you can see the district 12 girl, Olivia, running ahead of you.

So, you've chosen to flee north. Seems an odd decision, considering there's nothing obvious that way. But it's doubtful the game-makers would even have a north if there wasn't something. But before you get to that, you've first got to escape the freezing cold and icy snowcap, and then run across the flat ground that stretches out, leaving you in full view of anyone. Sounds fun, no?

Anyway, things you can do here... If you like the thought of camping close to the Cornucopia, then the caves in this snowcap are very good spots for staying hidden. Only problem is that you're likely to freeze to death unless you make a fire, and that may get rid of your hidden-ness. But hey, people probably won't expect someone to hide here.

Otherwise, here are the directions.

Cornucopia - If you've changed your mind about running away, then the bloodbath is still there. By now, the fights have probably just begun, so it'd be pretty dangerous. But hey, maybe no-one will notice you stealing a few items if they're too busy fighting. And north of the Cornucopia is the dead end, so not much point going that way.

South - South, you can leave the snowcap (past the cornucopia) and proceed to the flat-land, the green of the forest visible.

West - In the west, that big mountain dominates your view. You can still head that way if you want, but it'll take a couple of turns longer. Otherwise, to the south-west is the Western Cliffs. Maybe there's an easier way down into the forest that way, but that's a hell of a lot of running.

East - And again, the east is more cliffs and the lakes are that way too. I'm guessing since you chose to go north, that you're wanting to stick that way.

Notes:
-Being turn 3, there's no risk of suffering from cold yet.
-Even when you're alone, feel free to roleplay as this will all eventually be viewable.
-Note that as of now, both Liv and Silas are running. Unless Olivia stops to wait, Silas can't catch up.
-And again, ensure you post your action.
-Anyone else in the North Snowcap will be able to view your thread, but they won't be able to find you without mine + RNG consent. But please, RP appropriately.

Contestants Visible:
Olivia Nineohnine
Silas Edwards

Items Here:
-Snow, and lots of it. Not even any dead trees to get wood from.

Terrain:
Snow - Increases chance of tripping over.

Silas ran for a nearby cave to take cover, hoping to check what was in the bag he obtained. He didn't fancy chasing the girl ahead of him until he'd seen what was in his bag, and there was always the chance that she would rather form an alliance than fight right after managing to stay safe at the cornucopia. Hopefully his interview will cause the gamemakers to lay off and give him a bit more time preparing before fully getting into the action of the games, giving Silas the chance to check the bag for any possible weapons or means of action.

Olivia sees the boy running behind her. She wonders if she should try to make peace with him and form a small northern alliance or if she should save herself and run further. Olivia sees the boy hiding in a cave. She decides to take a short break from climbing and sits against a cliff.

Silas caught a glimpse of the girl eye him as he headed over. She rested against a cliff and Silas sped up slightly, unsure as to what this girl's intentions were. His first thought was that the two of them may have to form an alliance if Silas's bag had supplies that turned out to be insufficient for him in this location, feeling a slight pang of guilt due to the fact that this thought was rather selfish. However, if he formed an alliance, he would rather it be one that benefited all members of it well - unnecessary relationships would make later stages of the games difficult once it came down to alliances having to kill one another.

Now for the northerners. Rather than catching up to Olivia, Silas chooses to take cover in a nearby cave. I hope you realise it's very cold. You checking your bag now? Why not.

SILAS' BACKPACK

-Ten arrows
-Blanket
-Hammock
-Three bottles of water
-A tin labelled 'beef broth'. Looks like it needs heating up

Arrows aren't much good without a bow, a blanket sure is handy when you're currently inside an ice cave. Maybe the hammock can be used for extra warmth too. Water's also very handy, and beef broth... that doesn't sound very appertizing to me.

Olivia, however, decides to take a break outside too. Let's hope no killer can see you. So you're both stopping this turn? Alright, then.

Anyway, I won't bother giving you the options. It seems you're wanting to stay here for the time being... I need to think up something to do for people who are alone.

Silas sighed as he looked at the arrows. He was terrible with a bow, not that he even had one to use in the first place. However, there was always the possibility of using them for something that wasn't initially intended, such as using them for fuel or to lead someone astray.
Silas now thought about his possibilities. He hadn't gained any means of hiding or attacking, but the only way of getting said supplies was by returning to the bloodbath. Maybe he could wait until the fighting was over, see who had taken the place as a camp, and sneak in if he had any way of camouflaging himself. However, there was also another girl outside of the cave... 'What supplies could she have?' Silas wondered.

Olivia sees the boy eyeing him but isn't afraid. He looks harmless. She decides to look in her pack and see what supplies she has as well. Hopefully there's some weapon in there. However she'd have to practice, seeing as how she isn't good at combat.

I think it'd be handy to advance roleplay if I just tell you Liv's bag now. :P

-randomises-

-Survival Books (One on plants, one on creatures, one on general survival tips. Basically, if you come across a plant/creature or something you're not sure of, you can 'read the book'. Meaning I'll tell you if it's safe or not)
-1 Person Tent - Gotta love how the Capitol can fit such equip. into a bag
-First Aid Kit
-A slingshot
-Strawberries

Silas sat there, praying that the girl wouldn't pull out a knife or some way of killing him... however, he sees the girl open her bag to first reveal some books. Silas was a smart guy, so the books didn't interest him too much - he was likely to know enough about plants to survive without. She then pulled out a tent, which would be a means of the girl surviving if Silas and her went seperately. Finally a slingshot and some strawberries were removed from the bag temporarily.
A slingshot... it wasn't quite a bow, but if Silas removed the arrow tips from his arrows, they could be of good use. Luckily she didn't have any aim for herself. The strawberries certainly looked tastier than beef broth, but they would also go off a lot quicker - better for a tribute to enjoy them rather than use them as a last resort, Silas thought to himself.
Silas decided to make the first move and go over to the girl who was examining the contents of her backpack, still, "anything of use?" he asked. He held up his arrows in one hand along with no bow as evidence that he had no means of attacking her. If the two didn't form an alliance, they could at least swap a few things before seperating.

Olivia shows some intrigue at the slingshot. She picks up a rock from the ground and slips it in the slignshot. She practices her aim. Success! It bounces where she wants. However, Olivia watches in horror as it flies downhill. She slowly watches as the rock flies and hits the District 8 boy in the head. He experiences a slight headache but isn't hurt. Hurriedly, throwing care to the side, Olivia runs down the mountain to see if he's okay.

"Oh my God! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" she asks. The boy rubs his head a little but smirks.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Thanks. It's okay." he says. Olivia looks around and decides she might as well just pop the question.

"So...do you wanna...ally up?" she asks.

(Sorry, I kinda took over there. =P)

Silas rubs a bit of snow on his head to numb the little bit of pain. He didn't particularly want to form an alliance per say, just help each other out at the most... "Sure, I guess. I don't know what to do about a weapon, though - I didn't manage to get one at the cornucopia..."
He sighed, looking around the area. There wasn't much here, and in terms of food they didn't have much to last them for very long.
"How about we go somewhere else to look for food? I'm sure you could take out some sort of small animal with that slingshot, and the books could come in handy... if of course there's much plant life in this arena," Silas asked. He looked towards the western side of the arena where the mountain was, and could hear strange cries from the cornucopia. Judging from where the cries were coming from, it sounded as though whoever it was that had ran west was already back at the bloodbath. That way could be their best bet if no-one was there anymore.

Olivia nods in agreement. "We should get food. I don't think there's any plant life out here though...how about we look in my book and see what's around here? I don't think going back to the bloodbath is safe."

"That'd be alright." Silas replied. As he said this he started to separate the parts of 5 of his arrows, leaving the other 5 in case the two of them acquired a bow. The shaft could be used for fire, the tips as a sharper, more damaging equivalent to rocks for slingshot ammo, and he wasn't sure about the other ends. "We'd better try and get away from this snowcap before the bloodbath is over."

"Alright. I think we might be too close to the others. If someone comes up here and catches us, we would be dead. Let's go." Olivia stuffed the things back in her backpack and hoisted it onto her shoulder. "Wait. Which way?"

"I say we head round the snowcap towards the west side of the cornucopia - even if there's not much in terms of food, we can get a good view of the rest of the arena and see where there could be something." Silas answered. He peered back towards the cornucopia, vaguely making out tiny shadows running around, accompanied by the occasional scream or howl. He too, hoisted his backpack up and put the parts of the arrows into his bag, apart from the tips, which he put into his pocket. He decided to throw a few pieces of fletching in the direction opposite to which they were about to go - leaving him with all of the shafts, all the tips, and 2 pieces of fletching. Hopefully anyone who went north would decide to head east as opposed to west, now.

With that, Silas started to walk in the west direction before getting an answer. He felt like taking charge right now, considering that he desperately wanted to get in a good state for fighting some people who had left the bloodbath.

(Why is there no quick reply box in this forum? hmph.)

Northerners, northerners. West? Sure, west it is. You go west. If you head south now, you'll eventually end up directly west of the Cornucopia. Otherwise, if you continue west, you'll be going towards the mountain.

You suddenly find yourself literally falling... luckily, you stop. Though everything but your heads is now deep inside the snow. Cold?

Either way, you can struggle on through the 5 foot deep snow or go back and find another way.

Silas soon found himself deep in snow, but luckily his height left a manageable bit of his body above it. There was nothing ahead of them to hang onto, so he thought about what supplies the pair of tributes had.
"Hey, you had some books right? One on survival tips? Could you check if there's anything inside it?" Silas asked Olivia. The girl seemed a bit shorter than Silas, however, which could cause a few problems. "Turn around and I can get the book out if you can't manage."

(Liv is indeed too short. The snow is 5 foot, she's 5'4. Heck, she's probably struggling to breathe right now.) <--Josh

(Right, so Liv, let me check your bag mmkay and make sure to er, stand on your tip-toes and breathe) <--Me ;\

((Sorry for not getting to this. =P))

Liv stands on her tiptoes and hands Silas her bag. She struggles a little bit and is freezing. However, she endures it by jumping frequently and moving her shoulders and joints so they don't get numb.

Okay, well, Silas manages to get the book out. It takes him a while to find the right page, thus while you find what you need, you cannot move this turn.

You do, however, learn the necessities of surviving in such conditions.

I'm too lazy to tell you what they are, so go google.

"There are various options, here, some rather obvious but it's best we checked anyway. This book has some pretty useful stuff." Silas said, while putting the book back into Liv's bag. "The best option would be to travel a bit higher on the snow, and make sure to spread your body out as much as you can to prevent yourself falling back down. We could also dig through or use a snow survival kit to walk across the top as though it were ordinary land, but we don't have the right equipment for either of those right now, so..."

Silas started to crawl a little higher, using his knees and hands as support, "Apparently it's unlikely we'll catch anything from the cold either, which makes sense - igloos are good protection from the cold, so naturally snow shouldn't be too much different." He didn't travel right across the flat top of the snow, so he wouldn't injure himself as much in the case of a bad fall. He used his hands to pave a shallow path in the snow, which could also be better for hiding from anyone nearby than simply travelling on the very top - he didn't fancy being a complete sitting duck to anyone tributes on higher land.

Olivia jumps like a kangaroo and hops behind Silas. "Maybe it's a good idea to dig out some of this snow and build a sort of fortress or igloo to shield ourselves off. Either that or we keep going. What do you say?"

"I say we keep going. We can take cover if anything happens, but it'd be best to get away before any victors from the bloodbath start heading our way - we're still the only ones who headed north so far." replied Silas. He steadied his foot before taking another step, this time using his elbows in an attempt to spread out the area of his body as the book had instructed. "We also don't have anything to dig with... and even if we did it could cause a cave-in with snow this deep."
