Rules to come later, just wanted to get my concept up. (Note that, while the events of the original series are left untouched, this game would take place as an alternate history to 'Legend of Korra.' Any and all changes made in the sequel program, but argued here, will be considered 'non-canon,' such as the distribution of metal bending and technological advances resulting from same.) If the legends hold any truth at all, then the Avatar used to be an instrument of peace. But, then, that would have been centuries ago. The scarcely remembered war between Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Ozai was a full three Avatar cycles ago, and possibly the last such of any peaceful example ever to occur. According to history, while Avatar Aang was able to successfully defeat Ozai, and live several years afterward, long enough to begin anew the existence of Air Benders through his children, he was struck down before age could claim him by a last grasp of Fire Nation diehards, assassins whom were never brought to justice. Since then, the world has fallen into dark view of the Avatar. It has been less than three centuries since this war, but thirteen Avatars have lived and died in that time. The world since has never once been free of war, as the nation with the Avatar incarnating within has, without fail, used this power to attempt to conquer the world. Technology has, sadly, only diminished amongst all this desolation. The metal wonders the Fire Nation had brought into being were lost, as their research and resources became unavailable in the name of mass-produced simple weaponry and decimation. Word has reached us now in the Fire Nation that Avatar Yun, the Earth Kingdom's less-than-secret weapon, has learned Fire Bending from a traitor amongst our own. He's to begin training with one of the now-thriving Air Benders within the near future, potentially putting him beyond our ability to quash once and for all. Out of this desparation, the Fire Nation and its allies (which is to say, every nation not currently in control of the Avatar) have come together in secrecy to create an ideal- the "Peace Bringers." These young warriors would have a simple, albeit somber, mission in this world- Kill Avatar Yun. We, members of the Fire Nation, have pledged upon our very souls that should the Avatar become a member of our proud nation once more, we shall end the cycle of war. But then, fire is a rather ruinous thing... The characters for this game... (At least 3 needed!) ABSOLUTELY required; - A Fire Nation youth recruited to be the head of the Peace Bringers. Your mission is, as stated, to kill Avatar Yun and force his reincarnation into the Fire Nation. Completely optional; -Air or Water Bender sent by their lands to help the Peace Bringers, but untrusting of the Fire Nation. Your mission may, at your discretion, actually be to kill the Avatar while he is in the Avatar State, bringing an end to the Avatar Cycle and forever leveling the playing-field of war. You may also choose to believe the Fire Nation's oaths of peace, and simply seek to bring the Avatar's reincarnation. -Earth Bender who, despite currently being the aggressor nation, is sick of the war. You're working with the Peace Brigade to bring an end to the Earth Kingdom's tyranny, and may or may not be seeking to end teh Avatary Cycle forever. -Earth Bender who, despite claiming otherwise, is actually looking to further the goals of the Earth Kingdom. Your mission is to tear apart the Peace Brigade from the inside, and protect Avatar Yun and your home's aspirations. -Non-Bender, who may be of any land, and have any mission. These are merely suggestions, and with the exception of the key Fire Nation player, you may design your character and their motives entirely as you see fit. If you choose to play an Earth-Bender, I suggest you not only consider whether or not you are "RP-capable," but how much negativity you can handle from fellow players, as you are essentially "the enemy among us" in their eyes. |
