She has little regard for human life, as she was born a vampire and lost much to human crusaders. To her they are little more than food. She is promiscuous, and uses sex as a weapon often, though lately she doesn't need to.

History: Mira is the first born daughter of Albus, the First Vampire. Once Albus the Sorcerer, he sought to extend his life and in doing so transformed himself into the first vampire. Then he took a chosen twelve and turned them, and together they started a new kingdom.

The First sought to expand his race yes, but as a former human and as the majority of his court were once human themselves, he saw no need to overtake them. Instead he set up a nice capital for himself and his people and declared survival of the fittest. Humans were a food source after all, it was what was natural for vampires. If you got caught by one it was your own fault. But most vampires tried not to kill, and only took what blood they needed. For a century and a half, vampires and humans lived in a strained peace.

Then religion began to spread more fiercely than before, vampire hunters became common. At first, Albus welcomed this. Survival of the fittest after all, if humans could fight vampires off then good for them! But soon the hunters became more vicious, and started attacking vampires who were befriended of humans, not hunting them. Some humans protested, but the hunters power and influence was spreading out of all control. Thus the Crusaders were founded. Backed by the church and lead by a zealot hell-bent on the eradication of all vampires; Leonhardt.

Mira was born a short time before vampire hunting began, and was raised in a peaceful and sheltered environment inside the castle walls. She spent her days learning with her father and playing with her mother Seffora, though all the castles inhabitants doted on her as the first royally born vampire child. She was spoilt. When the true crusading began, Mira was still kept in the dark, though she could tell her father grew stressed and weary. Her mother too worried, and sometimes spoke of leaving. Her father would not hear of it.

Eventually, the might of the crusaders had the vampires hiding within the castle, and all grew frightened. Some of the more powerful vampires fled to go into hiding, thinking only to keep them and their bloodlines safe. With dwindling numbers, they could not hope to keep the growing force of the crusaders away, and one day, they breached the castle walls.

As soon as Seffora saw the crusaders outside their gates, led by Leonhardt himself, she shoved Mira into a hidden compartment behind a fake wall and locked her inside, telling her to only come out if someone came to get her. Frightened and alone, Mira did as she was told and waited in the cold stone chamber, listening to the screams outside.

But when the stone wall slid open, it was not friendly faces she saw. As soon as she saw armor, she scrabbled to find something to hold onto, but her fingers only met smooth stone and she was dragged from her hiding place to stand before her executioners. Leonhardt and two of his men stood before her. Behind them were her nursemaids, her friends, and a few other castle servants. All beheaded or staked. Seeking her father, Leonhardt left the other two to kill her. She never let her face show fear, for she knew no groveling would keep them from killing her. They killed any vampire they found be they fighters in the guard or babes at the breast. Her face was hard and impassive as she awaited her death, but it did not come. Hearing metal hitting stone she looked up to see one of the men removing his armor. It seemed he had other plans than death for her.

Understanding his intentions, and having no wish to be defiled, Mira begged the other crusader to kill her and be done with it, but the first appeared to be higher in rank and ordered him to stay put, saying "She doesn't die until I'm finished with her". Under threat of being skinned alive, Mira bent to the desires of the man. She decided to make it work for her, if she died when he was done with her, then she would make him need her.

For what seemed like an eternity she pleased the man, and suffered under his sadistic tendencies. He took her maidenhood, beat her, branded her, and sodomized her, laughing all the while at her screams. She did not understand how such a man could be a holy knight, what was more she could not understand how humans could justify calling her kind the monsters.

Just as she felt she would break from the pain and humiliation, a voice in her mind encouraged her. 'Don't beg.' it said, almost scolding her 'You are better than that. Don't give him the satisfaction.' With newfound determination she bit her tongue to keep herself silent, which sent her tormentor into a rage. 'Taunt him. You'll kill him shortly.' And so she did, calling him a pig and other such insults, with no notion as to why she was trusting the voice. Perhaps she was going crazy?

But she wasn't. Both crusaders were forced to their knees by a force she could not see, and a man appeared before them, one she did not recognize. White hair, and emanating more power than she had ever felt. He offered her his hand, and then helped her to her feet. The first crusader spat curses at them, while the second only knelt silently. The man stood behind Mira, running his hands along her body as an outfit formed on her. Her back was leaning against his chest, as his arms wrapped around her almost protectively. He whispered into her ear, "Let's make him scream."

Taking up her role as Princess, she announced a swift death for the merciful crusader, for too much vampire blood was on his hands. For her rapist...she was much less kind. She spent that night in the arms of her savior, covered in crusader blood and uncertain of her future. When she woke in the morning he was gone, and the kingdom was in shambles. All thirteen original vampires seemed to be dead or lost, including her father. With crusaders patrolling everywhere, Mira decided it was best for the vampires to scatter to the ends of the earth. Perhaps one day they could return to power, but it was not this time.

A century passed as Mira traveled, growing in power and wisdom. Every now and again she would return to the old castle, long abandoned as the humans would not go near it, and communicate with whoever she could. Slowly she began to draw all of the vampires who had fled back, assuring them the castle was safe so long as they kept very quiet. Eventually the crusaders died out, convinced that their job was done, and the vampires could hunt again if they were careful. Mira began to rebuild her kingdom.

But she did not give up her travels, particularly not after she caught wind of a man who sounded very much like her savior. He was quite slippery, but eventually she managed to track him down. It appeared he lived in a castle with a demon woman and a cat girl as lovers. She revealed herself to him, and he did not recognize her, for she was a woman grown now and not the preteen girl he would remember. Inventing some ridiculous story about her clan desiring him for an eternal blood source, she had her excuse to stay there with him. It was entertaining, while it lasted. But holy warriors once again interfered, and slew his women. Angered, he destroyed the planet and went into hiding. All she could do was wait for his return.

And she did. When he returned, he was so pleased with her for waiting that he let her drink of his blood. Doing so filled her with immense vigor, and a power like she had never felt before. Refreshed, she returned to her home while he was busy restoring his.

So much time had passed her people thought she would never return, so her arrival was a surprise for them, an unpleasant one for some who had put themselves in power during her absence. However she outranked them as the daughter of the First, and with her newfound power they could not stand against her. The castle was restored to its original glory, and then some. She declared humanity cattle, they did not require free will to provide blood. Under her command, the vampires rose up against the humans in their land and enslaved them, keeping them and breeding them for food and nothing more. Soon the land of Valine was run by vampires, and ruled by Mira.

Theme Song: Entirely optional, but its pretty interesting.
