Well, this week, I got The Master Key and Tim Tyler's Luck from VCI, the 2-disc edition of Walk The Line, two copies of Lady and the Tramp (one to hide for when the burglars return), the dubbed horror Frankenstein's Bloody Terror, the British DVD of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (thanks, Rog!) and Revenge of the Pink Panther.

How'd you folks make out?

I went with Warner's Controversial Classics: Vol. 2, which contains 2-disc special editions of three of the 70s best movies - ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN, NETWORK and DOG DAY AFTERNOON. In addition, JOHNNY BELINDA, PRETENDER: SEASON 3, and ACTION: COMPLETE SERIES rounded out my purchases for the week.

I got 3, all TV sets...Love That Bob! (2-disc Platinum release), You Bet Your Life: The Lost Episodes and Hearts Afire: The Complete Third Season.

I wanted to get this particular version of You Bet Your Life because I found out recently this set had the episode with Pedro Gonzalez Gonzalez and after seeing it, I have to say that one episode was worth the price of the set alone.

You're welcome, Gravy, I hoped it would reach you safely...I hope you enjoy it. I did receive your check a few days ago.

I just received from Trev Scott the Complete Boston Blackie Movie Series with Chester Morris and the 10 TV Episodes of the Boston Blackie TV Series with Kent Taylor. Trev also sent me 2 CD's of the Boston Blackie Radio Show. Also, he included another movie starring Chester Morris made a couple of years prior to his Series. A cursory view of the DVD's and all I can say is that I'm pretty impressed. The DVD case is done very professional and it includes copies of all the one sheets for each of the 14 movies. Also, each DVD is professionally finished. I also purchased 3 Columbia serials: Jungle Raiders with Kane Richmond, Chick Carter with Lyle Talbott and Congo Bill with Don McGuire. Looks like Barcroft has some serious viewing ahead of him.

I had a chance to spot-check the DVD of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer this morning. Looks good, very colorful. Oh, and I forgot to mention, a trip to our local used DVD outlet this week garnered me Don't Bother to Knock and Billy Rose's Jumbo!

I could get one in the mail today as I'd gotten an e-mail notification a few days ago that my Serial Squadron edition of The Vanishing Legion has shipped. I've been waiting quite awhile for that one.

Mine arrived today, roughly 10 years after I ordered it, and with my backlog it may be 10 years before I watch chapter one.

Kid Gravy and I watched Tom Sawyer today. If there's a better Twain adaptation, I don't think I've seen it. Faithful to the spirit and the heart of a great book, and yeah, Victor Jory's Injun Joe is the stuff of nightmares. This is one that's gonna get rewatched a lot!

My copy of The Vanishing Legion arrived today as well. I believe this means the only SS title I'm now waiting for is The Masked Rider. I've only been waiting 17 years for that one so far :P

I'm glad you enjoyed The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. I was sorry I didn't get to see it but it hasn't been too long (a year at most) since I last saw it on TCM. Maybe it'll get a U.S. release one of these days.

This week, I picked up the fourth Harry Potter film, the Keaton collection, and Love Me Tender (the latest Fox Cinema Classics release). The three Fox noirs came in the mail, along with The Shaggy Dog from Disney.

I just got the new Harry Potter myself...along with the 6th season of Three's Company. I'm retiring after this week so my disc-buying is going to go down drastically. I just won't be able to afford buying 'em like I used to.

A much-needed light week this week... all that's on my list is Good Night, and Good Luck and the 1965 version of Ten Little Indians. How about the rest of you?

I have to pick up the Fox noirs and the Buster Keaton Collection from last week, plus GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK. Whew, finally a light week on the wallet. Good thing too, with that "Superman" week coming up in June, I will need to start saving.

Looks like I'll get 4 DVDs this week, half movies and half TV. I got the first two today...

Walk The Line--If there's a bigger Johnny Cash fan than me, I'd like to meet him. I really surprised myself by not going to see this when it was in theatres but I pretty much always knew I'd buy the DVD unless it turned out to be a real dog...which all reviews pretty much state it definitely isn't.

The Wizard of Oz is supposed to be looking better than ever. I understand there are 2 and 3 disc versions...the store I got only had the 2-disc version and I figured that was enough extras for me.

On order are a pair of TV titles I expect to arrive sometime this week...the 2nd season of The Cosby Show (which only cost about $20) and the 3rd season of Bewitched.

Good Night, and Good Luck. Highly recommend. Couldn't find Five Weeks in a Balloon locally. So it will be added to my next online order.
