I mentioned earlier that I had bought a pair of western sets recently...the box set of Randolph Scott movies directed by Budd Boetticher...and also the first season of the TV series The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp...and I have now received both of those. I've not yet watched any of the movies but have already enjoyed several episodes of the Wyatt Earp series.

Through ebay, I finally got my hands on a copy of the original Image release of MONSIEUR VERDOUX. Now I have a complete collection of the Chaplin Image DVDs.

But there is the thing about the difference in electrical delivery. Region 2 movies play 1 fps faster in region 1 because the Europeans deliver their electricity differently. Don't ask a scientific idiot like me to explain this, but it's factual -- even though not satisfactual.

Region 2 covers a lot of territory and not all Region 2 discs play at the equivalent of 25 fps rather than 24. If they are region 2 discs from Japan, they may play correctly because much of Japan, like North America, uses 60 hz power rather than 50. It really depends on what the power system for the source country for the disc is. Here is a list of what countries have as far as power systems: http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm

Received the five Lex Barker Tarzan films from Warner Archive in todays mail. Between so so packing by Warner and rough handling by UPS one of the cases was severly mangled. But fortunately the DVD wasn't damaged. Also picked up The Barefoot Executive and The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes at Wal-Mart.

Picked up The Strongest Man in the World at Wal-Mart. I'd like to think the stock on the shelves was sold out yesterday when I bought The Barefoot Executive and The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes. Because I couldn't find it then and today it was on the shelf between those two titles. I can certainly look right at a title and still not see it. But that would be taking it to the extreme.

I also received my five Lex Barker Tarzan's and am looking forward to them. They were sort of loosely packed in the bubble wrap pkg they sent but there was no damage.

BloodRayne 2, with the gorgeous Nathalie Malthie! The next time I come on here will be a bumper buy for me! I've set myself the challenge of buying as many for £100 as I can.
