Oh yeah? What does mentally ill mean, legally, and how does a cop know? People on medications are discriminated against. These drugs are prescribed to people who experience normal life passages like job loss and death of their loved ones, and then when they realize they don't need them and quit, withdrawal makes them act strange and sometimes cops shoot them just because they're scared. Tell me how that benefits society; I see how it benefits drug companies. The current New Yorker has an interesting piece on this topic, and better yet a cool Calvin Trillin casual about a peripatetic Chinese chef.

Operating on the premise that any Marvel release recommended by a DC hero must be worth getting I picked up Planet Hulk.

I hope you enjoyed PH, Marlin. Please let me know.

Once in a while, the "other guy" gets it right.

I watched it with my nephew. I really liked it but it was too violent for the nephew's taste. Looking at the opening sequence Thor: Tales of Asgard looks like it will be a good one. Unfortunately I doubt I'll get the nephew to watch another Marvel animated film for quite a while.

The police in Oregon are trained to shoot and kill innocent people too, as long as they are mentally ill.

The police officers or the innocent persons?

The nephew is 18. His brother who turns 13 next week probably wouldn't have a problem with it. But it's not my decision what he gets to watch.

Wow, the 18 year old found it too violent? Maybe there is hope for our youth. LOL

Glad you enjoyed it, Marlin. And I agree, the upcoming Thor looks promising.

I just got the Lost and Found: The Harry Langdon Collection . I've had this on my radar for awhile now. I've seen very little of his work and am curious to discover whether he's my cup of tea or not.

His style is so much a part of the culture now that it's hard to understand what an innovator he was in his day. I persevered and finally got the hang of him.

Let me know what you think of Langdon, CL. He is one of the next on my radar to check out.

The Lost & Found collection is not just a tribute but a determined effort by some serious fans to restore his reputation. They go after the standard line that Langdon was nothing without Frank Capra, and was ruined by his own hubris, making a pretty solid case for a combination of a market being flooded by old Langdon films (Sennett had a lot of oldies to re-release as well as a few fresh ones), and factual problems with Capra's version of Langdon's rise and fall. They also suggest that Stan Laurel's eventual screen character was a very conscious spin on Langdon's, quite possibly with Langdon's active involvement (They were friends and in later years Langdon was one of their writers).

The films are a mixed bag in terms of content and print quality, but it's a valuable collection with informative extras (although the talking head segments reveal a tight budget) and good music scores.

If you want to skip to the cream of Langdon's output, there's an Image DVD with The Strong Man, Tramp Tramp Tramp and Long Pants.

No, no, no... it's THIS week's movie, you big silly.

BTW, when I read "What about it? (2010)" I thought, "Mr. Panzer got a movie called WHAT ABOUT IT? I never heard of that!" Yeah, I did. I am the kinda guy who would freeze to death at a drive-in theatre showing CLOSED FOR THE SEASON, right?
