I picked up The Cape: the Complete Series, a short-lived 2011 show (ten episodes on two discs) about a cop who fights crime with a special cape after he is framed for murder and presumed dead. I never saw it when it aired, and the reviews I've seen are mixed. Still, for $5.00 at Target, I'll give it a shot...

Found a package of 21 Roy Rogers movies at Costco for $17 and change (probably 99¢ change, but I don't remember). I think they're probably all public domain, but I only had 3 or 4 of 'em already, so it was a good deal for me. Put out by Image/Madacy.
Chandu - can you report back as to the quality of the prints?
Sorry it took me so long, Don. I had a couple of distractions. First, let me remind you I'm still using analog equipment. I have VCI's Under California Stars and Bells Of San Angelo. In a comparison, both of VCI's efforts were far sharper than the Image/Madacy reproductions, the I/M efforts being somewhat soft. For instance, in the opening scenes of Bells, Roy is wearing a blue/white checked shirt with small checks, which is readily apparent in the VCI film. In the I/M film, it appears to be a light blue shirt. That being said, I can't say I'm surprised. At $17 for 21 Roy Rogers public domain movies it's about what I expected. If it was, say, The John Ford Collection, I might be a little disappointed, but not Roy Rogers.

I picked up Warner's 2-disc set of Max Fleischer's theatrical Superman cartoons for $9.99 at Best Buy. They're selling a bunch of other Superman DVDs (mainly TV shows like the 1950s Adventures of Superman, the later Lois & Clark series, and Smallville) to tie in with the new Man of Steel movie.

Games of Thrones Season One and Two arrived Tuesday - delivered through an open window and damaged badly.

The item was clearly marked FRAGILE in big, red letters.

Don't worry, I'll be cracking the postman's skull soon.

I picked up 4 Film Favorites: Leslie Nielsen, containing the three Naked Gun movies, along with Wrongfully Accused. I'm not particularly interested in that last film, but this was cheaper than buying the Naked Gun trilogy set. The thing that concerned me is that all four discs are stacked onto one center hub in the DVD case. Fortunately, I don't see any scratches on the discs.

Season one of Young Riders came packaged that way too. I'm not wild about it either!

This kind of packaging is becoming more popular as the production companies look to cut costs. There is a little bit of a raised center on disks so they really don't touch each other. I have several discs packaged like this and haven't seen any signs of scratching or other damage.

My complaint is that it causes excessive handling if you want to view anything other than disc 1. Excessive handling can lead to damaged discs.

Excellent point. Damaged discs can often be repaired, but not always.

I picked up season 1 of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, the latest iteration of the long-running cartoon. I liked the first few episodes I saw when Cartoon Network began airing it in 2010, though I still can't figure out how any kind of romance could have developed between Velma and Shaggy; jinkies...

Gosh, I feel so out of step sometimes. I got Ozu's rarest silent, an Inn in Tokyo, the Les Miserables with Nazis and Jean-Paul Belmondo, and a PAL copy of The Cobra Woman (Yippie! Geef Me Dat Cobra Jool). I want the stuff you can't possibly see on TV.

I'd follow in your footsteps, Mr P, they lead to more interesting places.
