Picked up M*A*S*H season 11. A pox on 20th Century Fox for including a nice set of extras on the whole show box set and not offering the extras disc to those loyal customers who purchased the first 10 seasons.

Also picked up The Adventures of Superman seasons 5&6. Tried Target, Circuit City, and CostCo which based on previous sales were most likely to have it. Finally found it at the local Wal-Mart which I judged least likely to have it.

I hear there's a chance those extras discs may be available for individual sale eventually. I'm not going to buy the complete series box set just to get a couple discs of extras and whatever container they come in.

Yesterday I received one disc featuring two Tex Ritter movies.

I got the new Looney Tunes set. Another fantastic set, in spite of a minor quibble or two.

Got Superman TV 5&6, Forbidden Planet CE, Looney Tunes set, and the Bah! Humduck animated film. The Forbidden Planet CE packaging is neat. I'm leaving my Robby replica in the sealed packet. May try to watch FP this weekend. It's an old favorite. When it came out, it was rumored that Disney did all the animation work for the Krell underground machinery. Interested to see if the extras confirm or dispute this.

I received 4 titles today, all TV stuff: Adventures of Superman (seasons 5-6), Lois & Clark: New Adventures of Superman (season 4), Reba (season 4) and Gunsmoke: The Directors Collection. Like just about everybody, I ordered Looney Tunes Vol. 4 but I ordered it with 2 other items and I believe one of the three doesn't come out until at least next week and they'll wait until then to ship all 3 items together. I figure I can wait a week or two.

Just curious, Rodney, what would those minor quibbles be?

I got Lassie today. This movie came out in early September and was basically a remake of the first Lassie novel and movie from what I understand. I haven't watched it yet but I hear it's very good. This becomes the first movie released in 2006 to find it's way into my collection.

Some cartoon fans have felt that Warners have pumped up the colors and sound to make the cartoons look more "modern" to today's audiences. I'm not in that camp, but I was shocked to see some really strange coloring in Tortilla Flaps on the Speedy disc. However, since my posting, I've noticed that the book Looney Tunes: The Complete Illustrated Guide reproduces a layout sheet from this cartoon and I've just been used to seeing it in a deteriorated state.

Also, The Goldbrick, one of the bonus Snafu cartoons has been seriously slowed down in terms of both sound and picture. I'm surprised that nobody noticed this, but it's just a bonus feature and is no big deal at all.

I received a pair of DVDs today...

Dodge City, a 1939 western starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland. Nice-looking technicolor print.

The Magnificent Seven: The Complete First Season was a TV series based on the movie. This first season is only 9 episodes long and they fit it on 2 discs. This aired not too many years ago. I think it lasted just 2 seasons...and I doubt the second season was a full-length one, either.

Picked up Star Trek: The Animated Series today. And yes I do have all seasons of all the live action series and all the movies. Considering I haven't gotten a good start on M*A*S*H and Adventures of Superman from last week I've got lots of TV shows to watch.

I picked up the Cry Baby Killer/Little Shop of Horrors "official" DVD debut from Disney, the six-pack of Abbott & Costello, Three Stooges, and Laurel & Hardy films from Warner Bros., a pair of animated films, Cars and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown; and An Inconvenient Truth.

Finally picked up Hulk. When it came out it was $19.99 and that was too much. Then I saw it for $9.99 and that was too much. Then Wal-Mart had it for $5.50 and that was too much even if it did include Jennifer Connelly. Now Wal-Mart has it for $1.88.
