LG, I got my Will Rogers 2 in the mail last Friday from DDD. Haven't looked at any of it yet. The packaging is the same as the last one. Sure wish more companies went with the thin cases. I'm about out of shelf space. |

Rog, I love Justice League Unlimited! It's the absolute best of the Warner Bros' DC animated programs that started with Batman: the Animated Series. I was never a big fan of DC comics growing up. In the 70's the DC heroes and stories seemed one-dimensional compared with the soap operatic lives that Howard the Duck, Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, and Sgt. Fury experienced over at Marvel. However, today I'm a total DC comics junkie. On the whole, DC currently has much better writers than Marvel, and the characters today are anything but one-dimensional. Justice League Unlimited went a long way into getting me into the DC universe (along with the landmark comic series Identity Crisis). I'm definitely planning on picking up all of the volumes. --Ignatz |

I watched a few episodes of the first Batman animated series a few years ago; liked the animation, didn't like the writing. Saw a couple of episodes of whatever the series was (Batman Forever?) where Batman's apparently in the future. Didn't like that one at all. Saw a few episodes of Teen Titans. That one I liked. May check out JLU, 'cause I trust you. Has there been a series based on the Legion of Super-Heroes? Seems like it would be a natural. Ditto the Metal Men. Checked two more stores. Still no Will Rogers Vol. 2. Apparently ya can order it (Amazon has it in stock) but has anybody seen it in stores? In addition to the four Disney tins I picked up today, I got the Sturges set. I had a 40% off coupon for a boxed set from Borders. |

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH! Hit report instead of reply, so to the balcony police/ushers, I made a booboo. And now on to our message--- LG, I've heard rumors that the Legion of Superheroes series is in the works, perhaps debuting later in 2007. If I can remember my source or find something on the DC boards, I'll let you know. |

Correction. The KidsWB Network site is showing the Legion of Superheroes as part of their Saturday morning lineup already. |

Yes, the Legion is on Saturdays at 10am. I think The Batman is on right after it. I've not had a chance to catch The Batman, saw a minute or so of Legion and it had an anime flavor, I think. Not sure I'll like that but I do want to see a full episode. I always liked Batman: The Animated Series myself. The futuristic one is called Batman Beyond, I believe. |

Picked up Wake of the Red Witch from the bargain bin at Wal-mart. There are plenty of bargain priced John wayne films available. Some are PD releases of varing quality. But many like Wake of the Red Witch are studio releases. |

I picked up a pair of John Wayne titles from Wal-Mart's bargain bin a few months back that were from Artisan, I think...nice quality copies of King of the Pecos (one of his "B" westerns) and Flying Tigers. I also picked up Rio Grande, then realized I already had that one and gave my extra copy to my father. |

I've also been looking around in all my local stores for that "Will Rogers" vol. 2 set, with no luck. At least, I was looking until the hordes of Christmas shoppers got too thick, and caused me to curtail my searching. I did manage to locate "Charlie Chan," vol. 2, which I snapped up. The first volume of "Will Rogers" seems to be everywhere. In fact, I saw it at a little record store in the shopping mall. Seemed rather bizarre, seeing a picture of Will Rogers on the dvd-box, staring out from the dvd rack, surrounded by posters and cardboard cut-outs of raunchy Britney Spears type singers and gangsta rappers. One of those cultural whiplash moments. My dvd purchases this month have actually been pretty slim, the primary items being the season-sets to "Mission: Impossible" and "Gomer Pyle." Although I've basically been more of a 'movie' fan all these years, I've really gravitated towards the tv-dvd sets. They give you so much bang for your buck. Plus, it's been nice just seeing some of these old shows again, without being chopped-up and interrupted by the abrasive nature of modern commercials. Along with pop-ups and other clutter, tv-viewing had really developed into an unsatisfying, if not worthless endeavor. I'm really grateful for the current tv-dvd trend. |

I got a movie and a TV set today. The movie was one of those you could vote for awhile back at Amazon.com as part of Warner's Campaign 2006 poll. I voted for it and now I've bought it...it's There Was A Crooked Man... with Kirk Douglas and Henry Fonda. The set I got was the first season of Superboy starring the delectable Stacy Haiduk. Oh yeah, some kid in a costume is in it, too

Today was my first chance to use the gift card I got for Christmas. Picked up Jaws 3. I've heard so much bad about this one. Not as bad as what I'd heard. Certainly not as bad as the 4th Jaws film. Also picked up the first season of War of the Worlds. |

My son gave me an all regions DVD player. Now I can start enjoying all the French and German DVDs L.G. recommends. Received a really interesting book about many of the movie houses (both grand and neighborhood) from the middle west. I find it very interesting to read about the history of some of the movie theatres of the past. Other non movie related items. Kan |
