Thanks, Marlin. I did enjoy SKY HIGH, and would probably give it a solid 3.5, but perhaps I will let ZOOM stay on the shelf awhile. Until it hits the bargain bins, anyways. |

Finally received Dunston Checks In. It was a free DVD mail in offer from Kelloggs. Also while doing my weekly grocery shopping I picked up Flushed Away. Then I was reminded how dangerous to my wallet visiting the DVD section can be when I also picked up For Your Eyes Only and The Horse Soldiers. |

Finally picked up Arabian Nights. I had been debating whether to order this title or not. But when I saw it today at the local Target I went ahead and bought it. |

Received Space Academy, a 1977 live action saturday morning kids show produced by Filmation. For a 70s kiddie show it has decent production values and stars Jonathan Harris. So far he isn't as over the top as Dr. Smith on Lost in Space. But then I've only watched a couple episodes. I guess there is more human labor involved in packing commercial DVDs than I thought. When I tore off the shrink wrap and opened the set one of the discs had fingerprints on it. |

Went the direct to DVD prequel route and picked up The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning. I didn't watch the recent Dukes of Hazzard movie. But I would definitely say this prequel captures the essence of the TV show. As good as Catherine Bach and Jessica Simpson look April Scott has got to be the most delicious Daisy ever. |

Well now I'm mad. My DeepDiscount.com order was supposed to arrive next week. But considering it arrived today that isn't going to happen. Ordered Flaming Star an early Elvis film co-starring Barbara Eden. Since I was so happy with Space Academy I also ordered Filmation's earlier live action show Ark II. |

This week was CASINO ROYALE. Next week is the W.C. FIELDS COMEDY COLLECTION: VOL. 2. The following week is CHILDREN OF MEN. This is a great month for DVDs, but a bad month for my wallet. |

I picked up Casino Royale yesterday myself while I was at Wal-Mart. I also picked up Goldeneye, the only Pierce Brosnan 007 film I didn't have on DVD yet. |

Not released this week, but I did buy both of the FOX sets of Laurel & Hardy films this week, for some reason. |

I arrived home yesterday to find the new Errol Flynn collection, and a boxed set of six "Forgotten Noir" from VCI. |

I picked up CHILDREN OF MEN as expected. It was the best big screen experience I had last year. It holds up quite well on DVD. |

I received an order from Trevor today that included a Jungle Jim box set, a Nancy Drew set, Sherlock Holmes set, a Tarzan with Lex Barker set and a box set of Tailspin Tommy movies. As usual, from Trevor, everything looks very good. I might add as an added bonus Trevor puts a CD or the appropriate radio programs of each movie set. A nice touch Kan |

Would add that I received a nice order from Rodney last week. Half a dozen discs of the Little Rascals, a DVD of Drive-in Intermission spots, Censured cartoons, and a couple of other DVDs. Kan |

Having finished The Ape Man (Thanks Gravy) I was inspired (If you can use the word inspired in relation to The Ape Man) to order the Alpha set Sons of Kong. BTW you can get it direct from Alpha on their Oldies.com site for $4.98. But by the time you add shipping it is only about a dollar less than what I paid from DeepDiscount.com. |

I just got 5 dvds of D.W. GRIFFITH -- DIRECTOR from Grapevine. About 50 of his Biograph shorts. And also a William S. Hart feature. The exquisitely appointed Panzer asylum now has a new name, Hog Heaven. It's been my life's dream to see more Biographs, and now that time is here. "1776, The Hessian Renegades," here I come! To the casual viewer I would recommend the later volumes. Five has a lot of good stuff. I'll report back after I've seen these things. It won't be tomorrow, I can tell you that. One a day is the best I can do. |
