Personally, my preferences re: the great silent clowns run to Keaton and Lloyd, but Charlie's "golden dozen" is just the ticket for when I want a good hearty laugh.

I'm right with you there Igster. Keaton and Lloyd are my two favorites. Brilliant and visionary filmmakers as well as comedians.

Resident Evil..............Extinction..........I had the first two so why not I thought...

Well, you have the first two, so thinking obviously left the equation a long time ago. ;)

You have Galactica 1980 and make a comment like that? As a fellow purchaser I can tell you that getting Galactica 1980 and thinking have absolutely nothing to do with each other. ;)

Hey! Hey! Now, as a "fellow purchaser" of Galactica 1980, you certainly know that this set contains the single greatest episode of this or any Battlestar Galatica series (old or new); with that episode being "The Return of Starbuck". B)

The rest of this particular incarnation of the series is pretty much frakkin' crap.

Besides, I enjoy the Resident Evil movies, they are cheezy fun. I just enjoy ribbin' the ol' Inspector, a little more. ;)

The postalperson brought me a pair of the DVD sets that I ordered via that big honkin' A&E sale Gravy mentioned--The Avengers '62 and The Avengers '64: Set 1. The others, alas, are on backorder.

Well since we're all confessin to our little offbeat vices.....I picked up the Galactica 1980 series today for the same reason in the quote......the rest of the series is kind of dry and boring......plus Lorne Greene is lookin kinda sexy with the facial hair.....

Barnes & Noble has a sale in January... Buy 2, Get 1 Free. (The free one is the cheapest of course.)

Having a $25 gift card, I picked up the Jayne Mansfield Collection, How to Marry a Millionaire, Take the Money and Run, Irma La Douce, My Fair Lady, and Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection Vol. 3.

Today, Chandu's mailbox yielded the deluxe edition of The Jazz Singer, the deluxe four disc collector's edition of That's Entertainment!, a 12 disc box set of 50 classic musicals (told ya I liked musicals! ) and another 12 disc box set of 50 mystery classics. B) Stuff I wanted for Christmas, but it must have fallen off Santa's sleigh somehow. :o

A while back--the page seems to have been tossed out with all the stale popcorn and black jujubes found under the seats--Gravy touted a French release of the 1949 noir quickie Follow Me Quietly. This lovely little treat landed in our brick kiln-like mailbox today, along with a Spanish Region 2 release of Jacques Tourneur's Berlin Express (1948). Both of these Region 2 titles were purchased at HKFlix.com.

Oh, and I also received Gunsmoke: Season 2, Volume 1.

Pickep up Sunshine bundled with Supernova. Not that I care about Supernova. But it was the same price as Sunshine by itself.

Just watched SUNSHINE the other day, Marlin, and I was a little disappointed. A mash of ALIEN/THE CORE/ARMAGGEDON that loses it in the third act, IMHO.

Today I got the Langdon collection, The Raymond Bernard Eclipse set, and all the Swamp Dogg CDs I didn't already have. It's glory day at Panzertown. With that and the Ford set, it'll probably be a while before I buy again.

I would agree. There isn't anything all that special about Sunshine. In fact despite my snide comment I wouldn't rate it much higher than Supernova.

From Big Lots I bought a 2 disc Memento set in a case file looking package. Oh yeah, for 3 bucks.

I have that version of Memento as well, although I've never opened it. I understand that there's an Easter egg on it that allows you to watch the movie backwards (forwards).

Arrived today from Rodney, Blackhawk, Mysterious Island, and Bruce Gentry. Thanks! And from Criterion, part of Barnes & Noble's "Buy 2, get 1 free" sale, Clouzot's Quai des Orfevres (1947)
