I have that version of Memento as well, although I've never opened it. I understand that there's an Easter egg on it that allows you to watch the movie backwards (forwards).

I've seen Memento and I think it's good but I did not know the disc has this feature........sounds like it's worth a look-see.
It's like Rodney King used to say, "Can't we all get a bong."

Just picked up the 2-disc Memento as well (for $6, everything is pricier in NYC I guess).

The region 2 version of Memento did have a feature that played the film backwards. Didn't know the US did via Easter egg. If someone learns how to access it, please post.

Acquisitions to the House of Yesteryear this week:

My A&E order continues to trickle in...just went down to the mailbox and picked up The Avengers '63 Sets 1, 2 and 3.

Splurged a bit and bought a pair of foreign film noir DVDs: A Traves Del Espejo (The Dark Mirror) and El Desconocido Del Tercer Piso (Stranger On the Third Floor). Stranger is Region 2, but Mirror will supposedly play in Regions 1-6 (but it's a PAL DVD, so that will be a problem without a region-free and converted player).

And there's a thread around here in which someone--I think it was PP, but I could be wrong--remarked that if you didn't see any of the new movies once in a while, you'd turn into a Blue Meanie. Well, just call me "Azul"...but I did purchase Zodiac and Hollywoodland from Columbia House this week...watched Hollywoodland last night and enjoyed the hell out of it, a magnificent film.

The first seasons of Bewitched (uncolorized, it goes without saying) and Hazel arrived today! Durwood and Mr. B., here I come!

The colorized Bewitched DVDs actually sold better than the black-and-white versions. If Endora were still around I'd request that she transform these consumers into newts.

Barnes & Nobles "Buy 2, get 1 free" and some Christmas gift certificates netted me three more Criterions, #62 The Passion of Joan of Arc, #98 L’Avventura, and #196 Hiroshima Mon Amour.

Through the magic of Barnes & Nobles buy 2 get 1 free offer, I was able to get 3 seasons of one of my favorite tv shows of the past - Rocky and Bullwinkle. Jay Ward's wit and the excellent voice talent really make these timeless classics. Can't wait to jump aboard Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine and revisit these golden oldies.

And that dear Rodney is one of the reasons why you play an important role in the world of film and tv and cartoon collecting :D

After all the $$$ I spent on DVDs in December I really should slow down. But it doesn't look like I will. Just received both volumes of The Time Tunnel.

I hear you, Brother Marlin. I received a Region 2 DVD of Odd Man Out (1947) in today's mail, and the new revised Criterion of The Lady Vanishes (1938). (In my defense, Lady was bought with a Target gift card I received over the holidays.)

Oh, and I got some of the Andy Clyde Columbia shorts on sale from Finders Keepers. Let joy be unrefined!

Just placed my order with Rodney for a mess o'serial.

Among other gems, I have Young Eagles coming so I can follow along with LG.

I decided to buy all stuff that I don't have on tape. Once I finish up the collection with DVDs, I'll start upgrading the taped ones to DVD also.

And then I'm sure a new format will hit!

www.otrdvd.com

I should point out that Finders Keepers is an affiliate of Rodney Co. If you're interested, you should talk with him about procuring these DVDs...he's at www.oldiedvd.com.
