Cuyahoga Falls, that's the correct street. Still on North Hill in 'Kron.
It's like Rodney King used to say, "Can't we all get a bong."

Used various coupons and discounts to score the "3 films by Louis Malle" Criterion box, with Murmur of the Heart, Lacombe, Lucien and Au Revoir Les Enfants, plus a fourth disc of supplements, normally $80, for $43 at Borders. (Criterions #328-329-330). Did even better with the new Miriam Collection "Limited Collector's Edition" of El Cid -- that was free. And those are numbered, too -- this is #1. Finally, $6.99 netted me something called Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter, which I remember reading about in Famous Monsters but don't recall much about it, except it is from Brian Clemens and his Avengers crew.

Costco had 2fers of vintage Universal DVD releases for $11.98 each. I had most of 'em, but picked up Pillow Talk/The Thrill of it All.

I didn't think anything about a common theme until I received the order. My latest order is Beginning of the End and a double feature of Earth vs. the Spider and War of the Colossal Beast all produced and directed by Bert I. Gordon.

I can't WAIT to open this puppy... the PSYCHOTRONICA COLLECTOR'S SET from VCI, featuring (from the original 35mm negatives, it says here) with the films Delinquent Schoolgirls, Dream No Evil, Mondo Keyhole, The Raw Ones, The Mermaids of Tiburon (NUDE VERSION, whatever that means), and Cry of the Bewitched. Plus PACKED with EXTRAS! Yeee-hah!

Last week I got an A&E box set of Biography episodes titled Legends of the Silver Screen. The episodes of Biography in this include ones on Humphrey Bogart, Betty Boop, James Dean, Clint Eastwood, Katharine Hepburn, Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Shirley Temple. There's also a disc ton Hollywood itself titled Hollywood: An Empire of Their Own.

Today I received 5 westerns I'd ordered...

The Man From Colorado--Glenn Ford and William Holden
100 Rifles--Jim Brown, Raquel Welch, Burt Reynolds
Bandidas--Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek (honest!) :P
Broken Arrow--James Stewart, Jeff Chandler, Debra Paget
The Indian Fighter--Kirk Douglas and Walter Matthau

I also received a couple good books today...a hardback edition of Kirk Douglas' autobiography, The Ragman's Son plus Brothers of the West: The Lives and Films of Robert Livingston and Jack Randall.

I haven't seen Bandidas or 100 Rifles, but the other three are top-notch oaters, particularly Colorado and Arrow. The Indian Fighter is an offbeat little item...if Stony had had it available the other day he could have watched Elisha Cook, Jr. in it.
