Happened to be a WalMart and found another one of Millcreek Entetainment DVD's. This one is entitled TV Westerns and contains 57 episodes of Various TV Westerns. Included are 12 Episodes of the Cisco Kid with Duncan Renaldo, 3 Episodes of Death Valley Days with Stanley Andrews as the Old Ranger, 15 Episodes of The Roy Rogers Show, 15 Episodes of the Lone Ranger with Clayton Moore, 6 Episodes of The Range Rider with Jock Mahoney, 3 Episodes of The Rifleman with Chuck Connors, 2 Episodes of Bat Masterson with Gene Barry and finally 1 Episode of The Adventures of Champion with Jim Bannon. The overall quality of the discs is very good with the exception of the Champion episode which is fair but very watchable. Here is a case where Alpha Video can't hold a candle to this outfit. Another well spent $5 and worth every penny.

The Phantom Empire arrived yesterday from Deepdiscount. It took 2 weeks, but for $12.16 and no shipping handling charges, what the heck. Yeah, it's the Gravy filled VCI thing.

I ordered mine from DD as well, and they said it shipped on March 30th...but alas, it hasn't arrived yet. I'm thinking my copy disappeared into the USPS triangle.

igs, I called DD the day before this arrived and was told that I still had about a week to go for my wait, so 3 weeks seems to be the time they allow.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I had ordered 4 of the Paramount titles from Legend Films via PayPal. I placed the order last Thursday and they arrived today. Wow...that's fast service.

I just finished watching William Castle's "The Busy Body" (a guilty pleasure of mine) with Sid Caesar and Robert Ryan. "Money from Home", "Student Bodies" and "Won-Ton-Ton" are on the "to watch" shelf.

Quality is very good...no extras on the disc but I knew that going in. This is a film
I never thought would be released on DVD

This week I got of bunch of the Fox Noirs I had somehow missed when they first came out and "Jungle Queen", and "Serial" and "Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies" from Legend. That last I got mainly to see the old cars they used.

During my absence. my Region 2 copy of Il Passo del Carnefice (The Fallen Sparrow, 1943) arrived. A particular favorite of mine, since John Garfield, Maureen O'Hara, Walter Slezak and Patricia Morison are in the cast.

ig, where did you get your Riot in Cell Block 11?

Today, my pickups included the Woody Woodpecker set and Juno, which came with a free t-shirt at Circuit City.

My Phantom Empire copy finally arrived today, along with the 1938 Johnny Mack Brown serial-oater Flaming Frontiers. Also in the Rancho Yesteryear mailbox were Criterion editions of The Passion of Joan of Arc (which received so many raves here I thought I'd have a flutter at it) and the 1961 budget noir Blast of Silence.

If we only had a Costco...

The postperson delivered a pair of Lucy DVDs that were on sale at DeepDiscount.com: Best Foot Forward (1943) and DuBarry Was a Lady (1943).

You never know just how expensive a purchase might turn out to be. After purchasing Justice League: The New Frontier I ended up getting all of Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Now I've broken down and purchased all 3 volumes of Superman the Animated Series. At least my wallet is a little safe. I've been watching Batman the Animated Series on Toon Disney. For some reason I just don't get into the Batman series as much as the rest of the Bruce Timm series. It's a close call but I don't think I'll be getting Batman TAS. However my wallet isn't completely safe as I remember really liking the few Batman Beyond episodes I've seen.
