Well, I did get that 3rd season of The Muppet Show today. That gives me an idea for a poll question...which Muppet should be the cover subject for season 4? So far they've used Kermit, Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear. I vote for Rowlf...other possibilities would be Animal, Gonzo, the Swedish Chef, Scooter and those great hecklers, Statler & Waldorf...

Either Gonzo or Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.

I attended the Columbus Cinevent over the weekend and sold a bunch of my stuff...so I turned around and bought a bunch of new stuff. Here's a list of what I picked up. Now I need to find time to watch all this...

WHOOPEE (1930) Eddie Cantor
THE BIG BROADCAST (1932) Bing Crosby
KING OF THE JUNGLE (1933) Buster Crabbe
20,000 MEN A YEAR (1939) Randolph Scott & Kane Richmond
BREAKTHROUGH (1950) David Brian & John Agar
THE TANKS ARE COMING (1951) Steve Cochran (from a Sam Fuller story)
SKIPALONG ROSENBLOOM (1951) Max Rosenbloom & Max Baer
STARFIRE (1951) Doris Day, Gordon MacRae, Virginia Mayo and guest stars
including James Cagney, Gary Cooper, Phil Harris, Frank Lovejoy,
Randolph Scott, Jane Wyman and Patrice Wymore

Republic "B"'s
MR. DISTRICT ATTORNEY (1941) Dennis O'Keefe & Peter Lorre
BLACKMAIL (1947) Adele Mara, William Marshall & Roy Barcroft
SONS OF ADVENTURE (1948) Russell Hayden & Gordon Jones
HOMICIDE FOR THREE (1948) Warren Douglas & Grant Withers
HELL'S OUTPOST (1954) Rod Cameron, Joan Leslie & Chill Wills

Serials
BURN 'EM UP BARNES
DRUMS OF FU MANCHU
GHOST OF ZORRO
THE SPIDER'S WEB
VALLEY OF VANISHING UP

And on top of all that, I picked up some discs with many episodes of Jack Benny's radio shows and All-Star Western Theatre.

Finally, I purchased a set of six collector cards from the 1938 LONE RANGER serial. There are two cards featuring Lee Powell as the Ranger, two cards with Chief Thundercloud as Tonto and two cards showing all five of the "Ranger Suspects"...one pose unmasked and the other is the stacked shot of all five with their Ranger Masks on.

Yes, I had money left to buy enough gas to get home.

Last night at the local used DVD shop I picked up Del Tenney's Violent Midnight for $6.99 and the Image release of Beast of Yucca Flats starring Tor Johnston for $1.59. "I didn't know we sold DVDs for so little," the clerk said. "I've seen this movie. At a buck and a half, you're still ripping me off," I retorted.

This week I picked up volume 2 of the 2nd season of Gunsmoke as well as volume two of The Three Stooges Collection. I thought the Stooges' discs were going to have some extras? What happened with that?

They never officially announced any extras for the Stooges discs.
