Having added quite a few animated DC Comics series to my collection I dediced to give Marvel a chance this time. So I picked up Fantastic Four Worlds Greatest Heroes the Complete First Season. Only watched one episode so far. But it does look promising.

"I've seen this movie. At a buck and a half, you're still ripping me off," I retorted.

It's got at least a buck and a quarter's worth of entertainment, though. Maybe even $1.35.

I recently scored the Laurel & Hardy "Wrong Again" short (on VHS, it's not on DVD except in an out of print set), MST3K Volume 12, and "Bat P*ssy", allegedly the worst adult film of all time.

I'm kind of interested to know... Who "ranks" adult films and decides which one is WORST?!?

I got Popeye Vol. 2.

Technically, the "Lost Films of Laurel & Hardy" series is not out of print.

The AFI needs to do an official list. I see a great need for this.

I am an idiot. When looking for it a few weeks ago I found a large L&H set with "Wrong Again" as one of the many shorts, and it was listed on Amazon as out of print and used copies were selling for enormous amounts of money. I just bought the VHS because it was only $3.99. Now I realize I didn't look hard enough - you're right, the Volume 5 of "Lost Films" is available for a reasonable price on several websites.

Today, my first trip to Costco in a while netted me a look at a box of TV series season sets for $19.99 each, so I picked up The Rockford Files seasons 1 and 2, M*A*S*H season 2, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents season 3.

Huge day today, with the new Criterion The Furies, the old Criterion A Night to Remember, the new Persepolis, the new Man of a Thousand Faces, and the first season of The Mary Tyler Moore show.

The local Hastings had a $0.50 bin out front today so I picked up Joe Palooka (Jimmy Durante), The Big Lift (Montgomery Clift), Great Dan Patch (Dennis O'Keefe), Swamp Fire (Buster Crabbe), Africa Screams (Abbott & Costello), and two East Side Kids films, Million Dollar Kid and Clancy Street Boys. Actually, one of them rang up for a penny so all 7 cost 3 bucks and change. For your entertainment dollar it's hard to beat classic stuff.

Picked up the 50-pack Hollywood Legends set for ten dollars, used. Wife and I have enjoyed the 50-pack musical set so hopefully this new one is just as good. At twenty cents a film you can hardly go wrong.
