I was thinking about those Superman cartoons...wondering if the extras were enough...but now I've heard Warners will be doing their own version as well. I hope they can give us good sound. The ones I've heard has some distorted sounds.

Rogmeister, I was on the chat at the Home Theatre Forum last night, where Warner's Animation & TV divisions were the guests. According to them, they will be remastering the entire set, and ensuring all voices, music, etc are original. I would hold off for that set, it should be the definitive one to get.

Didn't find the set or any of the new Ford/Wayne titles locally. But while looking I did pick up a John Wayne double DVD of The Undefeated and North to Alaska.

I'll probably just buy a title or two from the Ford/Wayne set as I already have 3 Godfathers, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and the older editions of Stagecoach and The Searchers.

This week's acquisitions included The John Wayne / John Ford set, Bette Davis Collection Vol. 2, Frankenstein meets the Space Monster, The Lon Chaney (Jr.) Collection, The Princess Bride SE, a double feature of Creation of the Humanoids and War Between the Planets, and... well, heck, ain't that enough?

This week saw VCI's Forgotten Noir: Volume 1, DEAD ZONE: Season 2 and TIM TYLER'S LUCK added to my collection. Unfortunately, the Ford/Wayne set has been delayed another week up here, hopefully so they can get STAGECOACH included.

Of the films in The Wayne\Ford set the only one I really want and don't already have on DVD is Fort Apache. Once again I looked for it locally and ended up with other John Wayne films from other studios. This time it was The Sons of Katie Elder and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

I recently got The Cary Grant Box Set (which includes Holiday) and a trio of movies featuring Rosalind Russell: The Women, Gypsy and Auntie Mame. His Gal Friday, which she is also in, is included in the Cary Grant set. Other titles I've received include Hud and the first 2 seasons of Kate & Allie.

I have that first season set of SUPERBOY, Marlin. I don't remember seeing the show when it first aired, but from what I have heard, the first season is by far the weakest. More on SUPERBOY to come in the FUNNY PAGES section.

A friend of mine says the first few episodes are a bit weak but it gets better after that. Apparently, the episodes aren't in the right order, either. The one where Superboy first shows up at college is apparently the 4th or 5th episode on disc 1. I haven't decided whether or not I'll get it myself.

I got Superman: The Animated Series, Volume 3 yesterday. I'm still waiting on Lois & Clark's arrival...

Thanks for the info on the episode order for SUPERBOY, Rogmeister. I wondered what was going on when the first episode just jumped right in, with no explanations as to where Clark was, how he got there, etc.

A whole whack of AC Comic's serials arrived for me this week, including: SPY SMASHER, NYOKA AND THE TIGER MEN, ZOMBIES OF THE STRATOSPHERE and DON DAREDEVIL RIDES AGAIN. A couple more are due and I will be up to date with their serial releases. Hope they keep a coming.

So have you seen more of Superboy? Is it getting gauntlets up or down? That's one of the few "Super" titles I haven't bought.

I got some interesting choices this week including a few things with Batman in them...

Little House on the Prairie, Seasons 4 and 5 :D
Justice League, Seasons 1 and 2 :ph43r:
Clark Gable: The Signature Collection B)
Carole Lombard: The Glamour Collection :P
Desperate Housewives, Season 1 :o
