And a trip to Dimples netted me Criterion #94, Powell & Pressburger's I Know Where I'm Going, and Classic Musicals from the Dream Factory Vol. 3, with Hit the Deck, Deep in My Heart, Kismet, Nancy Goes to Rio, Two Weeks with Love, Broadway Melody of 1936, Broadway Melody of 1938, Born to Dance, and Lady Be Good -- and I had a coupon that got me that musical box for $9.

Finally received The Dangers of Deborah from Cliffhanger Productions. If you liked King of the Park Rangers then you'll likely like DoD.

The 16 Jungle Jim movies arrived yesterday from Rodney. I took a quick look at the opening credits in a couple of them and they appear to be good prints, just as Rodney said. I'm anxious to see them, but tonight's NASCAR night. The Indy race is recording as I type. ;) :P

Stony, let me know when you're gonna watch Pandora's Box and I'll open mine the same time (roughly) and we can compare notes! How fun!

Don't you have about ALL the movies ever made by now?

Without fanfare, Universal has re-released the so-called "Ultimate Edition" of the Brad Pitt film Meet Joe Black, which includes as a bonus disc the 1934 classic Death Takes a Holiday with Fredric March. Both films (the former of which makes a lovely coaster) for only ten bucks.

I also picked up the new Criterion upgrade of Kurosawa's High and Low and, believe it or not, the restored edition of Mondo Cane.

From the British Masters of Cinema series (Their version of Criterion):

Four Mizoguchi flickers: Sansho the Bailiff, Chickamatsu Monogatari, Uwasa No Onna (The Woman in the Rumor), and Gion Festival Music. Great movies, gorgeous booklets.

and:

The Complete Jean Vigo: L'Atalante, Zero For Conduct, A Propos de Nice, and Taris.

We're gonna have some fun around here!
Life is just a bowl of cherries, it's too mysterious, don't take it serious...
