I paid a whopping $3 for something called "Monkey on my Back" (1957) with Cameron Mitchell and Dianne Foster. From director Andre de Toth. Appears to be some sort of a boxing movie.

I've ordered a right handfull of DVDs off Play.Com. They're having a massive sale on DVDs, music etc all at £5 each.

The titles on offer number over one-thousand!

I got: A Simple Plan, Alpha Dog, Black Sheep, Dragonwyck, Eastern Promises, Hitman, Once Upon a Time in the West, Stardust and Waist Deep.

I'm looking forward to their arrival!

Just picked up The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning. I'd say it is one of the better direct to DVD Disney sequels or in this case prequel.

I've just picked up two more from Play.Com: 1408 and Surfs Up. I've also looked at the massive Marlene Dietrich boxset, Mobsters, Bugsy and Pal Joey!

Season 2 of Rocky & Bullwinkle arrived yesterday from Deep discount, completing seasons 1 thru 3 in my collection. Just in time too, as I'm on the last disc of season 1! :)

No. I won't get my copy until October--I ordered it and Vol. 4 from Amazon to save on shipping.

On the way home from church this morning, I stopped at the dollar store in search of something sci-fi-ish, so I could proceed with my next viewing for the Balcony Challenge. I brought home "The Sci-Fi Invasion" from Digiview which contains, Cosmos War of The Planets, Assignment Outer Space, Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet and Warning From Space. I haven't decided which one to watch for the Challenge yet. While I was there, I noticed Carnival of Souls for a buck too, so I picked that up as well. :)

Today, I acqured my first "Masters of Cinema" DVD, which as Mr. Panzer pointed out is the British equivilent, sort of, of our Criterion. This one's got a Georges Franju double-feature, Judex (1963) and Nuits Fouges (a/k/a Shadowman) (1973).

I also got McHale's Navy: Complete First Season, but I'm relatively certain Mr. Franju had little if anything to do with THAT. I also acquired a bonus "making of" DVD with my new Brian Wilson CD. Oh, and the VCI Entertainment version of Gorgo.
