No Tinkerbell for me, but I did get the Warners Gangsters Collection Vol. 4.

Received my Batman the Complete Animated Series set from Amazon.com today. This is the first time I have ever received a DVD I preordered online on the release date. In fact it is the first time I can remember an online company shipping a DVD prior to the release date. Kudos to Amazon.

I picked up Starship Troopers 3 and Scorpion King 2, with Natalie Becker looking rather tasty as Lady Astarte!

Big day today, with ...Transsiberian...
Please DO NOT read yesterday's dvd round-up in the NYTimes if you'd like to avoid spoilers.
I enjoyed this movie a great deal ...a bit on the unpleasant side, but a solid suspense thriller.

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
Gravy,

Just wondering--what prompted you to pick up The Umbrellas of Cherbourg? Was there a new edition released that I don't know about, or was this just a film that you've been contemplating picking up for some time.

It's one of my faves. It certainly ranks in my top ten.

It's been on my "to be acquired" list for some time, and I had a discount coupon at Borders, and they didn't have the DVD set I wanted to get, so I did some browsing and went with this one on a whim. You know me.

Picked up Anaconda 3: Offspring at Wal-mart. Sure is nice to be able to look over the latest DVDs while I'm grocery shopping. Not that it is nice on my wallet.

I had to get this one too as I have the other two. When I saw that David Hasselhoff was in it, I gulped.

Having the other two was my main reason for getting this one as well. And like you seeing Hasselhoff's name in the credit gave me pause. I would rate it third in the series. But it is good enough that I'll likely get the fourth film when it comes out on DVD.

From 2 different Amazon sellers, I got the enitire The Avengers '65 A&E sets. I already have the entire '66 sets. Funny that the '67 sets have about twice the shows that the '65 or '66 sets have.

Picked up The Cowboys from Wal*Mart today also.

Mr. Brooke... We're needed.

In the U.S., the Avengers were run differently than on British TV. For all intents and purposes, statewise Diana Rigg starred as Mrs. Peel over the equivilent of two seasons, a B&W season of 26 episodes and a colour season of 24 episodes. In England, the B&W shows were broken up over two years (1965-66) and the colour episodes ran in 1967. There are 33 episodes (1968-69) with Linda Thorson as Tara King.
