I knew he thought it was funny, yet I didn't know what that meant.

Thanks Kan

Stony: That one I happened to know. There are other internet shorthand terms I have no idea about. I would never make it trying to text. Occasionally someone here will use initials of a serial or a movie and I have to stop and think...what the hell are they talking about. The old gray matter is getting some cobwebs in it.

I once read a whole thread on some movie called CE3K trying to fiure out what th' hell movie they were talking about. Finally ascertained it was Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Million Dollar Dialog, from ch. 14 of Tex Granger...

Marshal: "I figured YOU were the Rider."
Tex: "How'd you come to think that?"
Marshal: "I just put two and two together."
Tex: "You can't add."

Ya gotta give some of those serial writers credit ... they certainly came up with some funny and unique dialog back in those days. :D

Reminds of something I saw yoday when I escaped from my prison for a few hours.

I went up the street to catch the local public transportation vehicle...aka, THE BUS.

There's a plex-glass bus stop near where I live...just up the street.

On one of the plexi-glass sides of the bus stop, there was a large sign that covered the whole section.

It simply said, AD HERE in big black letters.

That was all.

The four people that were there waiting for the bus..........all had calculators in their hands.

  ;)

I swear....true story.

I felt like that old comic strip character, Mr. Mum, who kept seeing weird crap happening all around him all the time.

This is my life and welcome to it... :D

More classic dialog, this time from chapter five of Radio Patrol:

Cop #1, working crossword: "What's a four letter word for STUPID?"
Cop #2: "Try DUMB."
Cop #1: "Nah, that don't work. The second letter 'M' don't match."

I'm currently watching 2 serials: FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE and THE LOST CITY.

I'm up to Chapter 9 of FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE. I've seen the the 1st two Flash Gordon serials over the past 3 weeks. I dearly love them -at least one of them anyway- but this is one I haven't seen in years -if ever.
It might be my favorite of the 3 but I'm suffering nasty symptons of what looks to be a repeat peformance of the flu so my judgement is a mite impaired thanks be to Benadryl.

I have now made my Saturdays-Lugosi Double Serial Saturday.

This morn was chapter 1 of The Phantom Creeps. Bela as Mad Dr Zorka, a crazy, complete with a giant robot, invisibility belt and those mechanical spiders, ya know the ones, they move so quickly ya can hardly see their legs move. Oh yeah, Bela shaves his facial hair as a disguise!

This evening was chapter 1 of SOS Coast Guard. Bela plays Mad Dr Boroff, a Dr who bitch slaps his really really big manservant then let's the big guy shave off Bela's facial hair with a straight razor to (say it with me now) use as a disguise!

I'm startin' to get my BelaBration on early. Yeeeeee haw!
