Today I watched the final chapter of Batman And Robin. I finally found out who was The Wizard. It's one of those Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger deals. I enjoyed this serial although The Black Tiger is not a big fan of it. That's all right, the final chapter of The Shadow is Saturday.

I'm actually not WATCHING Batman, but a Balconeer asked me for a couple of images, so I gave them to him, and may as well put 'em up for ya'll to enjoy, right? |

Finished The Shadow tonight.I don't know if The Cobult Club will ever be the same. I enjoyed it, but I'm gonna have to keep a scorecard on these serials that have a buncha guys sitting around and one of them is the villian, like in this one and Captain Marvel. |

I'm almost done with Jesse James Rides Again-- I cannot believe how BAD Clayton Moore's acting is! I thought he was pretty stiff as The Lone Ranger but in this one he could be played by a billboard and most of us wouldn't even notice. His delivery is just AWFUL. He was a henchman in CRIMSON GHOST (Recommended) and he wasn't anywhere near this bad. I think he just wasn't ready to carry the lead yet. Yikes! At least the serial has Linda Stirling in it, which is always a good thing. To be honest, I'm not much of a Western guy -- serial, movie or reality wise. I much prefer hardboiled private eyes or guys in ridiculous costumes fighting other guys in ridiculous costumes, but I picked this up (actually rented it from Netflix) because somehow I remember enjoying SON OF ZORRO which was another Western and I'm always looking for serials I haven't seen. Not bad enough to be good (Batman and Robin, Spider Returns) or good enough to be good (Batman, Captain Marvel) this one is kind of just meandering it's way towards the final chapter, which I think is episode 145. |

Stony- how many serials are you watching at a time and how are you doing it? Are you watching one episode a night or the whole thing at once? Just curious. |

I was watching 2 serials a day, 6 days a week, for a total of 12. One chapter a week. I am down to 2 serials left, currently. It was a chore and I won't watch that many again. I'm thinkin' more like 4 or 5. |

I burnt out on 'em doing four at a time. Currently I do one, once a week, and sometimes that's more than enough. Still collecting them like mad though. |

I've gotten into a bad habit lately, serial-wise. Since I'm seeing everything for the second, third, tenth, or fifteenth time, I find myself quitting some serials halfway through to begin others that I might not have seen as recently, or that have just come in. A few weeks back I bailed out of PERILS OF NYOKA -- one of my top favorites -- to look at the newly arrived LOST CITY OF THE JUNGLE, a vastly inferior serial (although not as inferior as I once thought). This past week, I got caught up in DICK TRACY RETURNS -- which I hadn't seen in its entirety since the laserdisc come out 15 or more years ago -- and was genuinely sorry to see it end. Now I've just started BATTLING WITH BUFFALO BILL, which heretofore I've only seen once (and in a crummy, multi-generation VHS dub at that). Looking forward to that one. For some reason, I've never adopted the habit of watching more than one serial at a time, even though I make it a point to run two chapters practically every night (three, if I'm screening a late Republic with 13-minute episodes). |

I generally avoid watching more than one serial at a time especially if they are anything alike. I tend to start getting them confused. One exception is I'll watch a silent and sound serial at the same time. I am currently watching Dick Tracy Returns and The Dangers of Deborah. But that is the only time I can remember watching two sound serials at the same time. |
