You're actually watching The Dangers of Deborah? Whatever for? The crummy preview was more than enough for me. |

Mainly because I liked King of the Park Rangers and most of what I heard from Serialfest attendees led me to believe that it was if anything better than KotPR. I've watched 8 chapters so far and would rate it as better than KotPR. I think I know who The Terror is. But it is more a guess than anything in the plot giving it away. |

Five chapters into Hop Harrigan. Finally a gunfight after five chapters. No fistfights yet. Glacially-paced. William Bakewell makes one of the most miscast serial heroes ever. The world's oldest college man seemingly in his 30s. Hop and his annoying sidekick Tank Tinker are actually not the heroes so far. The kid, Buzz Henry shows more intellect and is more effective than the heroes. Jennifer Holt is cute and a good actress, but not given a lot to do. The Chief Pilot mystery villain is a snore. The best thing in the serial is John Merton as Prof. Tobor. One of seriadom's more bizarre mad scientist-types. Really over the top weird. But actually you want to see what he's up to from chapter to chapter. |

I'm four chapters into the Mysterious Mr. M , which I'm liking okay, though I don't think it's anything special at all. I normally watch two chapters a week of a serial (on Wednesday and Saturday) but I've only been getting in one a week of this one, probably due to a busier schedule than usual, and a lack of interest in this particular title. |

Finished both Dick Tracy Returns and the Dangers of Deborah. Turns out my guess on the identity of The Terror was wrong. Next up is Dick Tracy's G-Men |

Of the 20 or so serials I've watched, the writers love the red herring. |

On Chapter 11 of Horne's THE SPIDER RETURNS and am enjoying it a lot. Lots of Horne-type slugfest with Warren Hull wading into a half-dozen or so henchies and holding his own. Fun Hull performance, especially when he's Blinky McQuade. Lots of dizzy Horne stuff like once when head henchie Anthony Warde has Hull's gal sequestered in another room in the hideout bar, he's seen briefly dancing with one of his fellow thugs! Also, scenes with the always-serious Gargoyle, hooded and cloaked, in the lab with his goofy scientific genius Harry Harvey crack me up every time. The gizmo that looks like Robbie-the-Robot which allows the Gargoyle to spy on his henchman and others is classic.

Paul, we screened DANGERS OF DEBORAH at SerialFest, and I believe all of us enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun. I also bought the DVD. You asking why he is bothering watching it is just a cheap shot, and says more about you than it does about DoD. If Marlin wants to watch it, who are you to question it? Be cool. |

Really, without someone to say "That's a horrible movie! Why would you watch that?" we wouldn't discuss much around here. Edit: Just got this message. In the interest of fairness, I feel it necessary to share here. Why do I feel like signing up for a certain other board was a major mistake? I don't even post there and I get harassed. "Rodney: I feel it necessary to point out that Paul Panzer hasn't seen Dangers of Deborah, so how would he know how good or bad it is? Pa is correct, he's just taking a cheap shot. Now go run to Gravy's board and lie about what I'm saying in this message. Todd" |

As I said, I saw the Dangers of Deborah preview, and it was so poorly written, edited and acted that it was all I needed to see. Why should Todd get a free pass when we honestly criticize everybody else? Why is it "cool" to praise an untalented amateur? |

Like I posted earlier, DANGERS OF DEBORAH was fun. Certainly it is no DRUMS OF FU MANCHU, but it was better done and more entertaining than several serials from Columbia or poverty row indies. |

No one is saying Todd should get a free pass. If you don't like it you are certainly free to say so. And you were honest about judging it based on a preview. But to suggest that no one else should think enough of it to give it a chance comes off as a cheap shot, especially with all the bad blood between The Squadron and this site. I agree with Pa Stark. I watched Dangers of Deborah at the same time as Dick Tracy Returns and I enjoyed DoD nearly as much as watching Pa get his ass kicked by Tracy. That is not to suggest DoD is anywhere near as good as Dick Tracy Returns but it is fun. |

It can be the greatest movie ever made, I just want him to stop sending me snarky private messages via a site that I never visit anymore. |

How do you know if he's sending you PM's if you don't visit the site anymore ? Seriously though, same thing happened too me thru E-mails from him ... the man is definitely persistent. I just stopped responding and answering and he finally gave up. |
