For no particular reason, I watched the DVD tonight. Well, I guess the reason was because I hadn't watched the DVD. I didn't like the movie any better than I had when I saw it in the theatre.

I think this movie made SUPERMAN IV look good by comparison. The only improvment was Lois Lane-- I always thought Margot Kidder was a horrible pick, and Routh was girlier than Dean Cain and Reeve put together.

Definitely a Superman for the Lifetime crowd.

I enjoyed the movie, I liked the idea of Superman having a son. It doesn't look like we are going to get a sequel to this film so that might never be explored. I also did not think much of Routh's performance. I thought he was too young looking, even though Superman is an alien I was not buying him as being as old as he would need to be based on the film's story. One of the great things about George Reeves as Superman was his age, his calm adult demeanor brought a lot to that role.

Gee, Superman as an adult. What a concept! Too bad no one in current Hollywood will buy into it.
