Well, not exactly. We ARE giving away a personally-autographed picture of Ms. Monogram 2006, Jennifer "Animala" Blaire, though, over at www.inthebalcony.com. Good luck!

I've been remiss in saying how well you did with this year's winner Gravy.

Thanks... this is the foist Ms. Monogram I actually knew personally before she won the fabled cubic zirconium tiara, but I'll leave it to your fertile and pernicious imaginations as to whether she used that relationship to influence the judges.

We've crowned four Ms Monograms so far, and I can assure all the Balconeers: they are all very, very sweet, intelligent, talented and wonderful young women. It's a sensational group.

She wants to know what kind of a bug. I suggested, inasmuch as you weren't specific -- you didn't say she resembled a mantis or a stinkbug for instance -- that she can select the bug of her choice to reflect her own cuteness.

I got a bunch o' autographed pictures in the mail today. Damn cute woman. Stay tuned for contest!

She's absolutely right...I don't know why we say cute as a bug. I can't think of a single cute bug, so, with my tail between my legs, I revise my statement to "cute as a Second Grader," hoping she has no reason to dislike one of them. I ran into a pack of 'em today while walking Lily and thought they were all pretty heckin' cute. One of 'em coulda broken my heart 57 years ago.

I think Altara is leaning towards "ladybug" as well. I am not certain a post-puberty woman wants to be compared with a second grader, though. Bug, sure.
